Help- I had viruses and a trojan. Each time I preformed a google search, my web pages were directed to other non-related pages. I searched this forum and picked specific spyware to run. I don't seem to be having the problem anymore, but still a lot of cookies after google search. Here is a list of what I did :

Spybot search and destroy
AVG Anti-Spyware
VundoFix
Combofix
Fixwareout

Welcome to Safer Networking, if you still need help and are not receiving it elsewhere, it appears you have missed some important instructions our administrator has posted at the top of the forum, especially this: "BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please read and follow all instructions and post all required logs or reports, anything less will slow your process.
Use "Post Reply" to post the information in the instructions and stay in the same topic.

I can tell you some fixes can cause more harm than good if they are run where the infections they are designed to remove does not exist. Without you following the directions I posted above which is posted at the top of the forum where you started your topic, that is all I can tell you.

Thanks

Here is the Trend Micro report, it would not even let me copy and paste, so I am retyping:

When I clicked on more information, it promted me to another page to run the scan. ???

I read your reply to read instructions again, I thought that these two scans were to be done first. Next I will do step two. If I am not looking at the corrct steps to follow, please let me know.

Ok, and thanks, I have a look at things now. First take a look at the eTrust Antivirus results in your post #3.
C:\QooBox\Quarantine\
C:\VundoFix Backups\
Delete those folders and anything else to do with combofix, Vundofix and Fixwareout. All of that junk in Quarantine and backups will be off your computer with those folders.

Take your time and carefully follow the instructions in the numbered order:

1) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

2) We need to disable your Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.
Open Windows Defender, Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

3) AVG Anti-Spyware: Deactivate the Resident Shield
- Before proceeding, deactivate the "Resident Shield" as this may prevent changes to the registry.
- To do this, click "Change State" to the right of the Resident Shield option in the main window.
- You will clearly see the status change to Inactive if you have done this correctly.

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = about:blank
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {35D3B139-DCC5-4B9D-868B-51596BDB84B4} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\atqqoaum.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {383A1824-A366-4847-A518-8FCA3AE2A511} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\tuspq.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {AB085201-8F42-474D-00A9-0CB82670AA24} - C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\qugavagab.dll (file missing)
O16 - DPF: {9522B3FB-7A2B-4646-8AF6-36E7F593073C} - http://a19.g.akamai.net/7/19/7125/14...couponsbar.cab

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

5) Update first, then follow the directions in this link to run AVG Anti-Spyware, make sure you delete or quarantine anything it finds and save the scan report to post.
http://forums.security-central.us/showthread.php?t=3165

6) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post the scan results and a new HJT log. Tell me how the computer is running now.

Thanks

OK, here are the logs/ reports:

(Can you give me an idea of what we are fixing and maybe how the virus/ Trojan entered my system? I hardly ever download and when I do they are sites that are trusted)

As for my computer, it appears to be running fine. Should I run any particular programs to make sure?

Thanks for returning your information. I will post a couple of links that will give you a bit of an idea about what is going on out here:
http://www.theregister.com/2007/05/11/google_malware_map/
http://redtape.msnbc.com/2007/05/the_next_net_th.html

see this >> http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\ <<< out of date, download the newest version and uninstall all old versions in Add Remove Programs.

If I knew what to tell you so that you would never have a problem, I would be over at Bill Gates house counting my $$$ with him. This is all about $$$ anymore and organized crime has moved in big time. Ask Google for information, it will provide plenty.
I am going to post some links, once you have reviewed that information, if you still have questions, please post them and I will do my best to answer.
Your major problem was the Vundo infection, here is some information:
Since there is a class action involving this one, you may want to view this information:

Please do this as soon as possible:
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001111912274039?Open&src=sec_doc_nam

AVG Anti-Spyware is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

THANK YOU !!!
I uninstalled the old Java and downloaded and installed the newer version. Also followed the System Retore instructions, rebooted and then turned it back on.

The links you sent were eye openers to me- wow! Had no idea. I have been a PC user for several years and never had a problem, until now- guess I was lucky. I will download and use someo of the programs to better secure my PC.

Are there any links to help secure a wireless router? I have noticed two other wireless networks on my Network Places when I sign on and have been a little nervous to use it. A friend told me to disable my wireless card and that they would go away after a while. Its been a week+ and they are still there. I need to figure a way to secure the router better. If there are any you would recomend, I would appreciate it when you get a chance.

THANK YOU again!!!

I apologize, never having been blessed with wireless, I know nothing about it. I would ask google for information: http://www.google.com/ or consult the website of your router. You might also ask your Internet Service Provider technical support, they are usually knowledgeable about routers since their signal has to go through them.

Safe surfing...Phil
