Hi

Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.
http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip
Extract all the files to your Destop. A folder named SmitfraudFix will be created on your Desktop.

http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/Bitmaps/Folder.png

______________________________

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter

http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/Bitmaps/Fix01b.jpg

This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. When it is done, the results of the scan will be displayed and it will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other options until you are asked to do so!

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a RiskTool; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between good and malicious use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Please post:
C:\rapport.txt

Well, I have done (almost) all of Your instructions...but have difficulties.
I have managed to delete system32\drvmiv.dll and web\related.htm without any problems in the Safe mode after HijackThis Fix, but in no way I can delete system32\winwil32.dll because of Access is Denied message all the time...so I though about it and continued with ATF Cleaner and AVG scanning (with Quarantite options) and after that I saw that winwil32.dll is not any more in system32 folder. There are two logs in next two posts. In HijackThis I saw that in line with winwil32.dll now says "file missing". Oh, and there is not any more red circle with yellow exclamation point in system tray. I didn't notice system slowdowns yet (will keep an eye on it).

PS

I activate Windows firewall on my brand new ADSL Internet connection before a week. Before that my dial-up connections were also firewalled. I installed before a week a ZoneAlarm but have not managed yet to configure it to work as it shold be (I even couldn't open any web site), so I checked Windows firewall within ADSL internet configure.

.so I though about it and continued with ATF Cleaner and AVG scanning (with Quarantite options) and after that I saw that winwil32.dll is not any more in system32 folder.
Yes, AVG detected and removed the file.

Still something to do.

Remove thru add/remove programs (if found):
-NaviExcel

Start hjt, click do a system scan only, check:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [navapp] C:\Program Files\NavExcel\NavHelper\v2.0.4d\navapp.exe
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winwil32 - winwil32.dll (file missing)

Close all browsers and other windows. Click fix checked.

Delete following folder:
C:\Program Files\NavExcel

Post a fresh hjt log.

Done as I've been told (no NaviExcel in Add/Remove programs, started HJT and ScanFix two mentioned lines, deleted manualy Program Files\NavExcel folder) and here is HJT log after all steps.

Hi

Fix this one also:
O2 - BHO: NavHelper Class - {C1E58A84-95B3-4630-B8C2-D06B77B7A0FC} - C:\Program Files\NavExcel\NavHelper\v2.0.4d\NHelper.dll (file missing)

Well congrats, it appears your system is all clean Are you still noticing any problems? If not, it's time to secure your system to prevent against further intrusions.

THESE STEPS ARE VERY IMPORTANT

Let's reset system restore
Reset and Re-enable your System Restore to remove infected files that have been backed up by Windows. The files in System Restore are protected to prevent any programs changing those files. This is the only way to clean these files: You will lose all previous restore points which are likely to be infected. Please note you need Administrator Access to do clean the restore points.

1. Turn off System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

2. Reboot.

3. Turn ON System Restore.
On the Desktop, right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check *Turn off System Restore*.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
NOTE: only do this ONCE,NOT on a regular basis

We need to re hide system files. To do so, please follow the steps below:
Double-click My Computer. Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options. Click the View tab.
Put a check by
Hide file extensions for known file types.
Under the
Hidden files
folder, select
Show hidden files and folders.
Check
Hide protected operating system files.
Click Apply, and then click OK.

UPDATING WINDOWS AND INTERNET EXPLORER

IMPORTANT: You Need to Update Windows and Internet Explorer to protect your computer from the malware that is around on the Internet. Please go to the windows update site (http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) to get the critical updates.

If you are running Microsoft Office, or any portion thereof, go to the Microsoft's Office Update site and make sure you have at least all the critical updates installed (Free) Microsoft Office Update.

If the service pack 2 download is too large, you can order a copy on cd from microsoft here (http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx)

Make your Internet Explorer more secure

This can be done by following these simple instructions:
From within Internet Explorer click on the Tools menu and then click on Options.
Click once on the Security tab
Click once on the Internet icon so it becomes highlighted.
Click once on the Custom Level button.
Change the Download signed ActiveX controls to Prompt
Change the Download unsigned ActiveX controls to Disable
Change the Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe to Disable
Change the Installation of desktop items to Prompt
Change the Launching programs and files in an IFRAME to Prompt
Change the Navigate sub-frames across different domains to Prompt
Change the allow paste operations via script to Disable
When all these settings have been made, click on the OK button.
If it prompts you as to whether or not you want to save the settings, press the Yes button.
Next press the Apply button and then the OK to exit the Internet Properties page.

The following are recommended third party programs that are designed to keep your computer clean. A link as well as a brief description is included with each item.

Download Adaware
Adaware is a free program. It scans for known spyware on your computer. These scans should be run at least once every two weeks. For more information, see this tutorial (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?showtutorial=48)
The program is available for download here (http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022_4-10319876.html?tag=lst-0-1)
Download Spybot
Spybot is a scanner like adaware. It scans for spyware and other malicious programs. It is important to have both Adaware and Spybot on your computer because each program provides unique detection and pretection measures. Spybot has preventitive tools that stop programs from even installing on your computer.
To see how to set this up as well as more spybot features, see here (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/index.php?showtutorial=43)
Spybot can be downloaded at this location (http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022-10122137.html?part=dl-spybot&subj=dl&tag=but)
Download SpywareBlaster
Spyware blaster is a program that stops known malicious activex controls from installing on your computer. It works by changing settings in your registry. It makes
kill bits
in the registry, so that certain activex controls can't install.
If you don't know what activex controls are, see here (http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/A/ActiveX_control.html)
You can download SpywareBlaster here here (http://majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=2859&file=11&evp=61b0e8ad41924a03c37615f4682b4cef)
SpywareBlaster tutorial (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial49.html)

Download iespyad
It puts many bad webpages on your restricted zones list. This means that you can still view the
bad
webpages, but the webpages cannot do certain things (such as use javascripts and cookies).
If you need help understanding how it works, there is a tutorial here (http://forums.neoplanet.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=6640)
Download it here (http://www.spywarewarrior.com/uiuc/res/ie-spyad.exe)

hosts file:
Every version of windows has a hosts file as part of them. In a very basic sense, they are used to locate webpages. We can customize a hosts file so that it blocks certain webpages. However, it can slow down certain computers. This is why using a hosts file is optional!!
Download it here (http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm). Make sure you read the instructions on how to install the hosts file. There is a good tutorial here (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial51.html)
If you decide to download the hosts file, the slowdown problems can usually be avoided by following these steps:
Click the start button (at the lower left hand corner of your screen) Click run In the dialog box, type services.msc hit enter, then locate dns client Highlight it, then double-click it. On the dropdown box, change the setting from automatic to manual. Click ok

Just a final reminder for you. I am trying to stress these two points.
UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE!!! Make sure you do this about every 1-2 weeks.
Make sure all of your security programs are up to date.
Run the spybot and adaware regularly. (Once or twice a week minimum.)
Visit Microsoft's Windows Update Site Frequently - It is important that you visit http://www.windowsupdate.com regularly. This will ensure your computer has always the latest security updates available installed on your computer. If there are new updates to install, install them immediately, reboot your computer, and revisit the site until there are no more critical updates.

Stand up and be Counted.

NOW is the time you can start to hit back at the people who infected you.
http://images.malwarecomplaints.info/logo/MWC-logoplus4.gif (http://www.malwarecomplaints.info)
Please take the time to go and complain - that forum has a topic for your infection which is Vundo please post as a reply, you do not need to register to do so (but you can if you wish). It will also have a list of other places you can go to to register your complaint, depending on the country you are resident in. Please read the topics and complain, it is only with such complaints to goverment or government agances that something will get done.

Once again, please post and tell me how things are going with your system... problems etc.

Have a great day,
Blade

Blade, thank You very much for Your help and assistance.

I will ask You one more thing to do. The same day I opened this thread, I opened one more for another PC. That thread named "Blank white popup Internet explorer windows" is not answered yet after 4-5 days (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=14347). Or e-mail someone who can help. Maybe someone start it up before You take a look at it.

Short description (blank internet explorer windows are opening by itself every couple of hours, related to www.go.itemdb.com site, at system startup Windows says regchk.exe cannot be found).

Oh, and sorry for the Saturday's 0:2 in the Europe football qualification.

Best regards, Cedo
