Hi Guys,
I've seen the support you have been giving and frankly I'm amazed. I hope you can help me too.

I started by doing a webscan which showed the vundo virus so I ran the vundofix a couple of times until it didn't find anything anymore. I also ran spybot from safe mode. I restarted and reran spybot and smitfraud is not showing up right now but I see that its pretty tough to get rid of so I'm posting a hijack this log in the hope that someone can tell me its all gone (or otherwise if need be).

Let's do a little cleaning and see what happens:

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart and post a new HJT log, let me know how the computer is running.

Computer is running better. I reran spybot and smitfraud is still not there so thats good. My computer had been stalling during reboot for about 30 seconds or so and that is gone now.

Thanks for the feedback, I would still like to see these lines removed from your HJT log:

Understand they are just clutter and it is probably TeaTimer holding them there from memory.
You can try this: Disable TeaTimer then run this program:
http://downloads.subratam.org/ResetTeaTimer.bat It will reset TeaTimer and you should be able to remove the lines with HJT.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

If you want to run a good free trial to check for hidden junk, use this one with these instruction, delete or quarantine anything it finds and post the scan results if you have questions.

Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

Thanks so much pskelly,
I disabled teatimer and removed those entries. I ran the avg anti spyware program and it didn't show anything other than a few tracking cookies. I have enabled its resident protection for now and will see how it goes.
will teatimer work with avg? I haven't re-enabled it yet incase they conflict.
Do you recommend running spyware blaster as well (or instead?)

will teatimer work with avg?As far as I know it will. I run Spybot but prefer SpywareBlaster/SpywareGuard. SG does the same thing as TT. Keep in mind that unless you wish to purchase AVG Anti-Spyware, it uses copious resources and should be turned off (not running) unless you purchase it. Review the suggestions from the experts I posted and if you still have questions at that point, post them.

Your HJT log looks fine but you are running Selective Startup so I can't speak for stuff you have turned off.
