View Full Version : Shredder: "Remove file(s) from the list" question

I hadn't shredded my temporary files in some time. Naturally, when I engaged the shredder to list all the temp files, a huge list was generated. Therefore, I highlighted most of the files, then right-clicked the mouse and selected "remove file(s) from the list" so that I could just chop the remaining small batch -- in the past, if I tried to chop the whole list, Spybot would freeze.

However, now I would like to chop the remaining list -- the ones I removed. How do I do that? If I restart Spybot and use shredder, there are no temp files to shred now, but I know the items I removed before chopping are being stored somewhere.

Any help will be much appreciated.

Hello,

That can happen if there are big files in your temp folder.
Some users have reported that the Secure Shredder freeze if they shred big files.
They also have told us that if they close the tool with the Taskmanager and then open it again,
some files are shredded and that they could use it normally again after that.
Can you confirm this?

If you like, we would recommend an other tool for deleting sensitive data. The tool "Eraser".

Thanks SpyBotSandra. I appreciate your kind reply and link to another shredder tool. However, this doesn't answer my immediate question: how do I recover the temp files I "removed from the list" (right clicked mouse, then selected this feature)?

I removed them from the list so that Spybot would not freeze upon shredding. However, I would like to now shred those temp files as well. I assume by "removing from the list," those files were not shredded. Am I correct?

Thanks again, SpyBotSandra, in advance.
