Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information. "BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

If you still have not resolved these issues, it looks like you already removed a Vundo infection and most of your problems Kaspersky is finding are in the backup files Vundofix creates and your System Restore files. If you still need help do this:

Follow the directions in this link to run AVG Anti-Spyware, make sure you delete or quarantine anything it finds and save the scan report to post.
http://forums.security-central.us/showthread.php?t=3165

Post that scan report and a new HJT log and I'll take a look.

For your information: You are still running Service Pack #1 and because of that your can not download critical updates from Microsoft to protect your computer. As soon as you know the computer is clean you need to update your computer right away.

Cheers

Thanks for returning your informadion and the feedback, let's clean a little.

1) Any idea what this is >> O23 - Service: Spasadkos - SMC - (no file)
If you know it, you don't have to remove.

2) C:\VundoFix Backups\ <<< remove Vundofix and these Vundofix backups from your computer.

3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

4) AVG Anti-Spyware: Deactivate the Resident Shield- Before proceeding, deactivate the "Resident Shield" as this may prevent changes to the registry.
- To do this, click "Change State" to the right of the Resident Shield option in the main window.
- You will clearly see the status change to Inactive if you have done this correctly.

5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {B4C785F0-158A-4B0C-899E-62F9798DD694} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\khfgf.dll (file missing)
O20 - Winlogon Notify: winfvj32 - winfvj32.dll (file missing)
O23 - Service: Spasadkos - SMC - (no file)

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

6) System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001111912274039?Open&src=sec_doc_nam

7) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and run another Kaspersky scan, post the results and a new HJT log and let me know about any malware problems.

Thanks

Hello,

Thank you for your assistance.

1)I really haven't any idea what O23 - Service: Spasadkos - SMC - (no file) is, sorry.

2) Sorry this may sound like a daft question, but I cannot locate the Vundofix in my add or remove programmes. So I am unsure how to remove it.

I have downloaded ATF cleaner and saved it to my desktop, but rather thn follow the other dirctions, I decided to wait to see if you could advise me on how to remove the Vundofix before I move on to the other steps rather than get into a mess.

Thank you.

1) Check and remove it then

2) C:\VundoFix Backups\ <<< on the C:\ drive, delete that folder and delete the VundoFix.exe on your Desktop. The program does not update so it must be downloaded fresh if needed. You can do this anytime.

Thanks

Strange, spaskados seems to be still there, I'm sure I checked it.
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Spasadkos&btnG=Search
The only time google finds it is in your log, there is no file mentioned, you can search for this word: spaskados to see if it finds a file. In the meantime, do this:

Disable the Service
Click Start > Run and type services.msc
Scroll down spaskados to and right click on it.
Click Properties and under Service Status click Stop, then under Startup Type change it to Disabled.
Let me know if you can disable it.

AVG Anti-Spyware is finding nothing but tracking cookies. Do you really want to allow them to track your online activities? Here is how to stop it:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/cookies.htm
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/using/howto/privacy/config.mspx

You HJT log looks good, any malware problems?

Kaspersky: Number of viruses found 1
Number of infected objects 4

If you look near the end of the scan you will see four items that are part of Smitfraudfix, you may delete Smitfraudfix totally from your computer. It is not unusual for an antivirus to see parts of that fix as malware, they are not.

I believe the other item being seen as a virus is this one:
C:\System Volume Information\_restore{CFA83829-BEFF-4242-8E19-7855E99A7FB6}\RP1\change.log Object is locked skipped

We are about to address that one when you clean System Retore.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001111912274039?Open&src=sec_doc_nam

AVG Anti-Spyware is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

Some good information for you:

Ok, so far so good.
Have found spaskados there didn't seem to be an option to stop it, all the other items in the list had started next to them, that did not. I was ble to disable it though.
Have removed the smitfraud fix, and cleaned my system restore and rebooted.

Hopefully I can now update the service pack, and I will look through all the info that you have given me.
Thank you for your time, patience and support.

Sounds good:bigthumb: thanks for letting me know and your kind words. You need a anti-spyware program running in realtime. Unless you intend to purchase AVG Anti-Spyware, and once you have read the links from the experts I posted, let me say Microsoft has made this program available free:
http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

I will also mention that HJT does lots more than we have used it for, here is a good tutorial: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial42.html
It will also delete that service you do not know what is if you wish. You will find how when you study the tutorial.

Cheers...Phil
