Ok, any help would be very much appreciated, so here I go...

My computer has been EXTREMELY slow lately, about a month or two actually.. but in the beginning it was just the computer fan, it would make a drilling noise and you could hear it two rooms away, then it became slow...

Anyway, a friend suggested I hoover the fan, I did, and It was better for a day or two. Then it went back to the drilling. I stopped using my computer for a long time then, and it hasn't been like it in days and days.

However, it's become much slower than ever AND I don't know if this was an accident or a virus but half my music files have just disappeared and I just can't figure out where they are. Not in the recycle bin and not found on a search, they must have been permenantly deleted D:

My mother thinks that's a virus, anyway, enough story, I used a scan on Hijack this and have logged it for the eyes of the beautiful person who's going to help me out here =D

This is a sure sign of a problem with your fan. It might be that it needs cleaning, when did you blow the dust out of the case last? And it might be that your fan is going bad and needs replaced.

I do not see anything that looks like a virus, but bad stuff can be hidden from HJT, let's start with what I do see:

1) Read this please: http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_11\ <<< Java is out of date, download the newest version and uninstall all old versions in Add Remove Programs.

2) Do you know this is running on your computer: O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MessengerPlus3] "C:\Program Files\MessengerPlus! 3\MsgPlus.exe" /WinStart

3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

5) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
