Hi, this thing is causing me a pain! any advice on removal? Spybot has located the file,
C:WINDOWS\system32\mlljg.dll
but cannot remove it because 'a program in the meory is using it'

C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\ <<< out of date, download the newest version of Java and uninstall all old version in Add Remove Programs.

Read and follow the directions carefully, folks who do have few problems removing this junk.

Thanks to Atribune and any others who helped with this fix.

Please understand these hackers can call there junk anything they wish. Vundofix may not know the files at first, but it will learn. You want to run the fix until you see all Vundo files say: "Has been deleted"

Please download VundoFix.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) to your desktop
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThislogin a reply to this thread.Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

If there is a file VundoFix doesn't find we need it submitted. Please submit
the files to upload malware http://www.uploadmalware.com

Hi Trevor, thanks for returning your information. From what I hear, Smitfraud toolbar 888 is a false positive. You can read about it hear:
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=8668 and ask the Spybot experts about it here: http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=4
Start by being sure your are totally update and immunized, that might remove the item.

C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\bin\jusched.exe <<< I also notice your Java updater appears not to work, you may want to make sure it is set properly. Personally, I find it buggy and turn mine off to save the resources. It is vip to check for updates on a regular basis, I check mine when I do Windows updates.

We still have some work to do, please read and follow the directions carefuly.

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

5) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart and post a new HJT log and let me know how the computer is running.

Just run a spybot scan and it showed the Smitfraud toolbar888 detection again.

I think this could be a false detection as discussed elsewhere.
Can you tell me how to access the scan logs in SPybot so I can post them in the relevant place?

It took a little while so I have not had time to try out the computer to see if it is ok but so far it seems alright.Thanks Trevor for returning your infomation, and I live in Clearwater, Florida, I am not going anywhere.

We have some cleaning to do, follow these directions:

I apologize, I should have asked you to turn off WD last time, it blocks changes, what we have to clean is not malware, just letfovers.

We need to disable your Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.
Open Windows Defender, Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

TeaTimer<<< on second thought it was most likely TeaTimer, turn it off please:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

Let's continue on with cleaning System Restore files:

If you want to run a good free trial to check for hidden junk, use this one with these instruction, delete or quarantine anything it finds and post the scan results if you have questions.

Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

You could use the same method but be sure to Backup the Registry.

IF you find it necessary to post I would wait until a Spybot expert asks for the report, they will give you instructions for what they want.
