View Full Version : Vcodec, Trojan.Zlob and other potential nasties

I am interested to know what my optimal next steps should be. I think I have all the tools (Spybot, SpywareGuard, SpywareBlaster, StartupMonitor, and others...)

Here is the current situation:

Noticed Smitfraud-C up to it's tricks

Went through a number of steps to kill it, and they may have worked...

Norton picks up Trojan.Zlob without fail on restart.

Even though it says it has quarantined it. I have a pic of the threat dialog attached...

Vcodec seems to be lurking

There are unidentified BHO IDs and other rarely used items in my HijackThis Log

I am just about to get started on the HJT log tutorial posted here: http://hometown.aol.co.uk/jrmc137/hjttutorial/tutorial.htm

I have also requested assistance at this site (link to thread http://forums.spywareinfo.com/index.php?showtopic=64688&hl= ) but they seem swamped; I will inform them once I have a clean bill of health.

Thanks in advance for your advice,
Chris

Just noticed in Adaware that spyaxe may also be resident. Trying to fix with AdAware, but I know this may not work...

on it, thanks. Making progress over there. Still chasing a possible false-positive on zlob and some mysteriously spawning BHOs.
