Hi all.

Today I decided to scan with all my installed security soft.
Fist I scanned with Adware SE and found minor threats, and delete them.
Second, with the Avg 7.1 Free ed, nothing found.
Then I tried the Ewido Security Suite 3.5, again nothing found.
The last check was with Spybot S&D. It was scanning but it stopped and showed an error: Gain Gator [203] [Acsess violation at address 00401D4A in module "Spybot SD.exe". Write of address 54455320]
I wish to know if that error was produced by malware or if it was a general error.

Both entries in red are normal since I have disabled Windows features. I'm using Windows XP.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. :)

Hello,

Similar errors at various points during the scan have been reported on numerous occasions by people running Windows 95/98/ME systems.
The scan terminates when the error occurs.

You can translate (German to English) using:
http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/

Zugriffsverletzung bei Adresse = Access injury with address (or more correctly Access violation at address)
Modul = Module
Lesen von Adresse = Reading from address

This (in German):
Error during check!: --- various --- [Zugriffsverletzung bei Adresse 005FD5D2 in Modul 'SPYBOTSD.EXT'. Lesen von Adresse xxxxxFFF] ()
Becomes (in English):
Error during check!: --- various --- [Access violation at address 005FD5D2 in Module 'SPYBOTSD.EXT'. Reading from address xxxxxFFF] ()

The error seems to be transient in nature and other people seem to have been able to overcome the error by limiting the system resources used by other processes in the system.
In other words, run as little as possible while running the Spybot scan.

It seems it's a resourses problem. Recently, scanned again with Spybot and all is OK. Then, I don't have to worry about that.

Thank you very much, Spybotnorma. :bigthumb:
