I have just recently come across the Smitfraud-C.Toolbar888/AstaKiller and Virtumonde problem that others also have been having. I have downloaded and apparently "fixed" the Virtumonde problem via Virtufix, however I was unable to get a log of the scan.
I use Ad-aware, Noadware as well as Spybot to get of spyware and I use Ccleaner to get rid of cookies. When scans are done they identify there is a problem but it seems to always come back. Popups keep appearing as well.
I run Norton for virus protection and this identifys that there is a problem but cannot resolve it.
I can't seem to run an online scan as the signature does not seem to load on my Internet Explorer.
Please help.

Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information. "BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.
If you still need help, I wil see what I can do. Looks like you killed most of Vundo but some of the infection is left. I would like to see that Vundofix report if possible, should be in the C:\Vundofix folder.
1) See this: http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\ <<< out of date, download the newest version and uninstall all old versions in Add Remove Programs.
2) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.
3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.
4) How to use the Delete on Reboot tool
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial42.html#delreb
Start Hijackthis
Click on the Config button
Click on the Misc Tools button
Click on the button labeled Delete a file on reboot...
A new window will open asking you to select the file that you would like to delete on reboot. Navigate to the file: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wincqt32.dll and click on it once, and then click on the Open button.
You will now be asked if you would like to reboot your computer to delete the file. Click on the Yes button if you would like to reboot now.
5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {AF0988BF-C254-4D59-9C4C-BCD8448D917B} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: SpoofStick BHO - {CBA74CDA-DF78-4AD9-954E-3B15D0A993DE} - (no file)
O3 - Toolbar: (no name) - {4D46ED77-1429-4CF6-8F63-C84B5D710BAF} - (no file)
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [szarkrmf.exe] C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\szarkrmf.exe
O20 - Winlogon Notify: wincqt32 - C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wincqt32.dll
Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"
6) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\wincqt32.dll <<< delete that file (should be gone)
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\szarkrmf.exe <<< delete that file
(that files give you any trouble use the delete on reboot tool again, just copy/paste the new file)
7) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.
restart and post a new HJT log, let me know how you are running now.
Thanks

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback. I could not see that item, which is very nasty because you posted a log run in safe mode.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SC2] C:\WINDOWS\system32\scchk32.exe
http://fileinfo.prevx.com/adware/qq97a1100472548-SCCH42764788/SCCHK32.EXE.html
Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SC2] C:\WINDOWS\system32\scchk32.exe
Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"
RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\scchk32.exe <<< delete that file
run cleanmgr
http://spyware-free.us/tutorials/cleanmgr/
Look at the suggestions in these links to improve performance

Let me have feedback once those instructions are followed.
Thanks

Thanks for the help pskelley. I have done the task as requested.
scchek32 has been removed and I have done a cleanmgr.
I ran another Spybot scan and still Astakiller, Smit.... and now Statcounter appear. Also ccApp and ccSVcHst.exe??? shows a warning just before I reboot.
I noticed when I rebooted this time it was quicker but comp is still not running 100%.
Here is latest Hijack scan.

I ran another Spybot scan and still Astakiller, Smit.... and now Statcounter appear. Also ccApp and ccSVcHst.exe??? shows a warning just before I reboot. You need to explain better, Spybot is finding this stuff? Is your Spybot program completely up to date and fully immunized. Do that and run it again, remove what it finds and then tell me in words I can understand what you are seeing.
ccApp: http://www.liutilities.com/products/wintaskspro/processlibrary/ccapp/
ccSVcHst.exe:
http://www.processlibrary.com/directory/files/ccsvchst
Your HJT log appears to be clean also, you have one dead line left from Spysweeper you can remove with HJT:
O20 - Winlogon Notify: WRNotifier - WRLogonNTF.dll (file missing)
Statcounter: http://www.statcounter.com/
Astakiller: http://asta-killer.com/
anyone on this computer fooling with: Asta-Killer daily updated cracks, serials, keygens
Let me have a look at your uninstall list:
Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
Who else has access to this computer besides you? With a clean HJT log I need more information before I start with running scans and other tools randomly.
Thanks

I ran HJT and got rid of WRLogonNTF.dll. Spybot had not been immunized for some time and I have now updated it fully.
After running all my spyware programs (Adaware, Noadware and Spybot), I seem to have gotten rid of Smitfraud and Astakiller. Although Statcounter still remains on Spybot scan.
Adaware detected Vundo but seems to have gotten rid of it now.
Other people do have access to this PC and I have seen they have been on the astakiller website. I use Peerguardian and will hope to block the https of these websites.
Here are my latest Spybot scan (basic result as it was very large), Uninstall list and HJT scan. I also have put my Adaware scan result log.
Thanks.

You should be able to control Firefox cookies from within the program:

Everything looks good from this end, how is the computer running? You can rename HJT if you wish and delete any tools you downloaded for the fix. The exception if ATF-Cleaner, it's a nice small tool and you may keep it if you wish...share it with your friends. Let's clean System Restore files and finish like this:
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001111912274039?Open&src=sec_doc_nam
If you want to run a good free trial to check for hidden junk, use this one with these instruction, delete or quarantine anything it finds and post the scan results if you have questions.
http://forums.security-central.us/showthread.php?t=3165
Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.
