View Full Version : Another smitfraud victim
Hello guys, I just noticed this morning some of the same symptoms I have read on here. A ton of popups and spybot could delete everything but the smitfraud c infection. Sorry to bother anyone, but it's Father's Day and I'm getting fed up of sitting here and trying to figure this out...so I came to the experts! Any help would be MUCH appreciated.

Thanks for returning the information, looking at the uninstall list first. I look for malware and security issues. It's a good chance for you to see stuff you no longer use.
Uninstall list:
Java 2 Runtime Environment, SE v1.4.2_03
See this: http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
This is a very old version, download the newest version and uninstall this old one, it will get you infected.
This is all I see but I do not know all of your programs.
1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.
2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.
3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:
(unless you want your Start Page blank)
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = about:blank
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {31ebb97f-8ff1-4314-9703-ee588104a089} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\llminsr.dll
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {60E3EA49-4DA7-4BC4-A068-7879A984E6BF} - \
Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"
