Infected with Tagasaurus, Zedo, and others -- Cannot remove!!

I am trying to clean my father's PC. I have tried using Spybot as well as Ad-aware 2007 to remove the following spyware but they keep coming back.

1. CasaleMedia
2. FastClick
3. Hitbox
4. SexList
5. SexTracker
6. TagASaurus
7. Zedo

At one point my Norton AntiVirus was detecting Trojan.Vundo. I downloaded the removal tool from Symantec but it would not find it. After using Spybot, Ad-aware, and VundoFix from Atribune I think I finally got rid of it. The above list is what I cannot get rid of and I keep getting a whole bunch of pop-ups.

There is more junk that I can't identify. If you wish to try to clean this junk, then let's start like this:

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune

Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs and uninstall WinAntiVirus Pro 2007 if there.

4) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

5) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

6) Follow the directions in this link to run AVG Anti-Spyware, make sure you delete or quarantine anything it finds and save the scan report to post.

7) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post the scan report from AVG Anti-Spyware and a new HJT log. That might not get it all, but it is a good start.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

AVG Anti-Spyware is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

Thanks psKelley! the pc seems to be working fine now. The only thing is that when I booted up today something called Markany contentsafer 3.00 loaded in my icon tray. All fonts are in a foreign language and windows does not display them. not sure what it is.
Any idea?

I looked at that and it appeared to be a valid program from here, if you want it gone do this:

1) Start > Control Panel > Add Remove Programs and uninstall MarkAny\ContentSafer\MAAgent.exe (any you see)

2) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [MAAgent] C:\Program Files\MarkAny\ContentSafer\MAAgent.exe

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\Program Files\MarkAny\ <<< delete that folder, restart the computer for changes to go into effect.
I doubt that is a hidden folder, but you may have to enable hidden files and folders.
