View Full Version : Cleaned out inside of computer, still shuts down in the middle of scanning...

I've read through most of the "shutdown/restart while scanning" threads and the majority of them seem to be heat related or theres too much dust in the heat sink and stuff.

Well, I dissected my computer to reveal its organs and sure enough, there are dusts everywhere. I vacuumed as much as I could, and bought a compressed can of air to reach those hard spots. Basically, my computer is 'dust-free' in the inside. You won't find a spec of dust.

Thinking this will finally solve my problem, I ran spybot once more with the latest version along with the latest updates of course. Yet, upon scanning somewhere a little after "coolwww web search", it restarts once again..

I put it to where the computer wouldn't restart without telling me why so I came upon the BSOD.

Blah blah blah yadi yadi ya.

The technical part of the BSOD:

***Stop. 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0xF7920703, 0xF1674C70, 0x00000000)

***WindrvNT.sys. -address F7920703 base at F791F000, Datestamp 409F405C

Thats what is shown to me.

SpybotSandra? Fellow members? Please help me out.

You might want to uninstall Folder Lock.
Please have a look here:

Wow. Thank you so much. I'll uninstall and it try to scan it again. I'll report back if I'm successful or not.

Thanks again.

EDit.

Btw, I have Folder Lock installed on my laptop(Vista) and I run Spybot weekly without any problems at all. Whats the deal?

You're welcome.Good luck. :)

I'm not sure,it's been awhile since I had folder lock.Maybe check the version of Folder Lock you have on the Vista,if it's a later version, maybe they worked on any issues, and a later release has those issues fixed.Or maybe it just works well with Vista, hard to tell.

Well,I've never really used programs like folder lock,so I don't have any suggestions that I've tried myself.
But,there are a couple things suggested in this thread you might like to have a look at:
