hi The Vines Kid,

is spybot flagging anything during a scan?

do this first:

FOr XP: on the desktop double click my computer,go to tools>folder options>view> then select "show hidden files and folders", then UNcheck "hide protected operating system files " also UNcheck "hide extensions for known file types" click apply to all folders, apply then ok
------------------------
next see if you can find this .exe:
iwrim.exe
looks like its in a folder named iwri
located here:
C:\PROGRA~1\COMMON~1

c:program files\common files
-----------------------
if you can find it please go to this website, browse for the file, click submit
http://virusscan.jotti.org/

paste results in next reply
------------------------
also go to this website:
http://www.norman.com/microsites/nsic/Submit/en-us
browse for the file again, click upload to submit

use my e-mail address:

echoreply(at)hotmail(dot)com

no, spybot isn't flagging anything.
I found a folder named "iwri", but not "iwrim".
in the folder is another folder named "iwrid", which is empty.
Since there is no executable file in the folders, I could not upload anything to that first site. I didn't bother trying the second sight b/c of that, but I shall if you request it.

hi The Vines Kid,

Since there is no executable file in the folders

ok good, nothing to worry about then. the log looks ok as far as malware goes. that was the only questionable item in the log. see this link about run time errors, see if it helps:

http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/22.html

you might try uninstalling that toolbar (google) also.

alrighty, thank you.
the run time error thing should help, seeing how that is the exact msg I'm getting. =)
and, why should I remove the google toolbar, is there something wrong with it?
I choose to download it, in fact I searched for it. I use google all the time, that just made it easier. =)

hi The Vines Kid,

why should I remove the google toolbar, is there something wrong with it
no nothing wrong with it. it incorporates itself into internet explorer as do all toolbars and could be the source of the run time errors.

oh alright.
well since I did the other thing, I haven't gotten any errors, so... yay!
haha
thank you for everything. =)
