every piece of software ever installed is referenced in the registry somewhere. it is most likely a harmeless left over.
i dont see anything in the hjt log, i see you have avg antispyware, is it finding anything?

No..the avg finds nothing , spybot finds nothing (after a LOT of help from Blade)
the computer is much better than when we started but not quite back to where it began. i was thinking these registry entries might not be good to have in there.
