I have rerun the spybot (and other antivirus software) and I am still getting command service, ABetterInternet.Aurora, ABetterInternet listing even after Spybot says it has fixed the selected problems.

Can you please help with this as it's driving me insane.....as seen in previous post I have attached the Hijack log.

Hello. :)

I merged your two topics.
It is best not to add to your posts until a helper responds as they might think you are already being assisted by the post count.

We are sorry for the wait, new infections (not necessarily on your own computer) take longer to clean up.
All malware removal sites are experiencing the same problem with some members waiting a week to be answered.

If you have waited three days for advice post here. (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?p=4836#post4836)

What version of SpyBot is it you have ?

Make a new folder at this location
C:\ called "BFU"
Download/save (not open) Brute Force Uninstaller, By Merijn, author of Hijackthis.
from one of these locations
http://www.merijn.org/files/bfu.zip
http://castlecops.com/zx/Merijn/bfu.zip
extract the files inside and place them in the BFU folder
Doubleclick on BFU.exe, Click the round green icon (open script URL)
copy then paste in

http://downloads.subratam.org/BFUscripts/igetnetfreepod.BFU

Then click execute, when it is finished restart the PC.

Once back at the forums make and post a new hiajckthis log, there will be more to do.

Looks like youve done some fixing , Good idea Ewido

Consider canning AdwareAlert , its delisted now but was once on the list.

Update suns java manualy
Sun Java V1.5.0_06 is Available: http://java.com/en/index.jsp
Afterwards Turn off it's auto-updater,(Its buggy) , in control panel java >
update tab uncheck its option to update automatically.
After you install the newer version its important to uninstall the old versions, via addremove programs.

Are there any current problems ?

I have done what you suggested and all seems ok. Yes, I thought I'd read up on some other alternatives to fixing this issue as I know you are very busy. However, when running spybot again, the command service is being picked. Any ideas why this is still coming up??

Many thanks for you help.

Its just a leftover i think, nothing to be overly concerned with
Could i see the detection as SpyBot see's it . run a check for problems
fix all thats found then rightclick in the results windows and choose save report to file, post the topmost part down to and including SpyBots version and updates ..

Have you tried this ?
Open a command prompt (start run type cmd press enter)
type
sc delete cmdservice
press enter, type exit and press enter to exit the command prompt

I have used the command you mentioned...I get the following:

The specified service does not exist as an installed service.

Does this mean it has been removed?

Also, I have tried to update the windows update to ensure all is ok. It is unable to detect activex? I am not getting the 'toolbar' option to install Activex?
