Search engine results odd

I have ran spybot and numerous other detection devices and everything comes back crystal clean.

If I type in something in Google, I get shopping results....I also cannot go to certain websites. This being one of them. I get a page not found screen.

I had to actually come here on my laptop. All other applications seem to work just fine.

Oh, when I am at the google home page and I click the Gmail link....I am told that googles certificate has expired. I checked my clock and date and everything is ok there.

If I do the same thing on this laptop, it works fine. So I know there is something fishy with my other pc.

So, search redirects are your only symptom? Please read the instructions above which are also pinned to the top of the forum, especially this one:

Note: In notepad under Format, uncheck "Word Wrap" Produce all HJT logs like this, single spaced.
single-spaced - (of type or print) not having a blank space between lines.

1) Did you place this item in your Hosts file: O1 - Hosts: 205.238.40.1 winmx.com

2) add/remove in the control panel.
Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.

You may edit out Microsoft, Hotfixes, Security Update for Windows XP, Update for Windows XP and Windows XP Hotfix to shorten the list)

3) Thanks to LonnyBJones and anyone else who helped with this fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/files/lonny/Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
Once the desktop loads post the text that will open (report.txt) and a new Hijackthis log in the forum please.

restart and post the Fixwareout report, uninstall list and information I requested and a new HJT log. Add any comments about performance you think will help.
