Trojans and im-worms

Hi,
I really hope someone can help me.I keep getting pop ups and anti virus ads
telling me my computer isn't protected,also it keeps freezing.I have AVG anti virus, S&D and ad-aware.S&D keeps picking up various problems such as Doubleclick,adrevolver etc whitch it gets rid of but they keep coming back.I have just scanned with Kaspersky and it has picked up im-worm.win32.agent.a among other things.I would be really grateful if i could get some help with this as it's driving me mad.Thanks

here is the hjt log,I didn't run the S&D scan as my computer won't run in safe mode(When attemping to do this the computer switches on and off)
The etrust scan didn't find any problems?

I am sorry, the hackers have learned how to hide the infection from HijackThis.exe. I even highlited in red what needs to be renamed.
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\tigerlily.exe\HijackThis.exe

rename Hijackthis.exe, call it findvundo.exe. when you are done it will say:
C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\tigerlily.exe\findvundo.exe


restart the computer and post a new HJT log. I do not want to start the removal process until I can see what I am dealing with.

It is ok, we were all beginners at one time. If you look now at your HJT log you will see the 02 and 020 items the hackers were hiding from you. This is a Vundo infection and if you read and follow directions, you can remove it.

Thanks to Atribune and any others who helped with this fix.

Please understand these hackers can call there junk anything they wish. Vundofix may not know the files at first, but it will learn. You want to run the fix until you see all Vundo files say: "Has been deleted"

Please download VundoFix.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) to your desktop
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThislog in a reply to this thread.Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

If there is a file VundoFix doesn't find we need it submitted. Please submit

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) We need to disable your Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.
Open Windows Defender, Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

4) Disable the Service
Click Start > Run and type services.msc
Scroll down to dns cache reader and right click on it.
Click Properties and under Service Status click Stop, then under Startup Type change it to Disabled.

5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

I just tried number 1 on the list and for some reason i lost my internet connection and had all sorts of trouble getting it back.I don't know if it was a coincidence but when i reversed everything back it started working again.I will try again tomorrow when i have a clear head.Thank you once again for all your help so far.I can't wait to be infection free.

OK, nothing we are doing has anything to do with your internet connection. Understand that Windows hides certain protected files to keep folks from getting in them and making an error. Hackers also know this and they hide their junk among the Windows system files. No doubt that file
C:\WINDOWS\system32\j2251934.exe <<< is going to be hidden. You can look first beford you do #1 if you wish, but I doubt you will be able to see that bad file to delete it. Here are those instructions again:

Click on the Config button
Click on the Misc Tools button
Click on the button labeled Delete a file on reboot...
A new window will open asking you to select the file that you would like to delete on reboot. Copy and paste this file: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\j2251934.exe and click on it once, and then click on the Open button.
You will now be asked if you would like to reboot your computer to delete the file. Click on the Yes button if you would like to reboot now.

Post a new HJT log and tell me how the computer is running now.

That looks good, great job:bigthumb: Now let's run a good scan to make sure nothing is left. This scan does not remove anything, but it will show us.

Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:

Then do this: System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

Run another Kaspersky scan and if it is clean, you are good to go. If not, post the scan report.

Hi,

Everything was going fine until i just ran S&D and found smitfraud-c.The kaspersky scan is clean.Other entries found are advertising.com,hitbox,doubleclick and tradedoubler.I can't believe i now have smitfraud as i have never picked it up on a scan before.I'd be grateful if you could help me out again.
