Possible zombie computer, please help

I work at a very small publishing company (my boss and I and one other part-timer are the only employees). This morning I came in and there were thousands of rejected emails in our inbox. This has not happened before, or if it has, it has certainly not been to this degree (we generally get 50 or 60 regular spam emails every day). Upon examining the return address on these emails, we found that the address goes to "randomlettersOurDomainNameRandomLetters.OurDomain.com". In other words, though the @domain.com extension is correct, the email address is not one that we have ever used or set up. I also looked at the IP address; it does not appear to match our current IP address, but we have a DSL connection with a non-static IP, so I'm not sure if it means anything. The reason why we are receiving these bounced emails is that we have the "catchall" feature enabled on our email account; so even though the return address is incorrect, we still receive it as long as the domain extension is ourdomain.com.

I am wondering if these emails are coming from our computer at all, or if someone is somehow using our domain email server to send spam through. On the advice of our domain service provider, I have changed the email addresses on our email accounts.

I followed the instructions in the "BEFORE you post" thread, and here are my results:

The online scanner found no viruses.

Spybot S&D run in Windows Safe Mode found no threats.

I also installed and ran the trial version of NOD32, as our Norton is out-of-date. It found no threats.

this may or may not be the cause of the problem, but it is malware regardless

go to start>run and type in--> services.msc,<--in the list of services that comes up look for, under the name column>>XPJOSJMZI

right click on it and select properties. under the general tab:
make sure that the service status is: Stopped
and the Startup type is: disabled
click apply, then ok.

FOr XP: on the desktop double click my computer,go to tools>folder options>view> then select "show hidden files and folders", then UNcheck "hide protected operating system files " also UNcheck "hide extensions for known file types" click apply to all folders, apply then ok

using explorer drill down to:

Is there a way to tell for sure if bad emails are coming from our computer? We don't have a static ip, so I'm not sure how to tell. Any suggestions would be much appreciated. A couple of our emails out yesterday were bounced with this message:

Dear shelf life,

I wonder if I could impose on you to help us out just a little more. It turns out that my computer was the infected one, not my boss's (my anti-virus definitions were up to date, so I checked his computer first).

Running the eTrust online scan detected one virus:

wbk44.tmp HTML/Phishbank.BLY
cannot cure
C:\Documents and Settings\Bonita\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5\67A9KX6F\

I deleted the above listed file in safe mode and then re-ran the scan; the file appears to be gone. I also ran Spybot S&D in safe mode after deleting the file and it did not have any red results.

If you would be so kind, I am posting the HJT log for this computer, and I would be grateful if you could tell me if there are any more bad things on my system that I've missed. Thank you so much for your help.

hi Janice,

no problem. that last hjt log looks ok, but not all malware will show up in a log.
the best you can do is keep your AV updated as well as spybot. and scan with them ocassionaly, if any problems arise do a online scan like you did.

i like f-secure for online scans:

a second malware scanner like lavasofts adaware or superantispyware wouldnt be a bad idea, but two malware apps are plenty.avg also makes one (avg antispyware)
