Looks like you have been fighting a Vundo infection. Please read and follow the instructions.

1) Optional but suggested:
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Common\ViewpointService.exe
C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe
For your information, Viewpoint is installed by aol probably without your knowledge. I suggest you uninstall this resource waster in Add Remove programs.

2) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

3) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

4) Disable the Service
Click Start > Run and type services.msc
Scroll down to DomainService and right click on it.
Click Properties and under Service Status click Stop, then under Startup Type change it to Disabled.

5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

6) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\iguryysg.exe <<< delete that file

C:\WINDOWS\system32\scchk32.exe <<< delete that file

7) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post a new HJT, let me know how the computer is running.

I couldn't find Viewpoint in my add/remove files and DomainServices wouldn't stop, it still says stopping.

Complete all of the instructions you can and then do this.

1) Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
(You may edit out Microsoft, Hotfixes, Security Update for Windows XP, Update for Windows XP and Windows XP Hotfix to shorten the list)

2) Post that uninstall list and a new HJT log.

Add any comments you think will help.

Thanks for returning your information, not being able to see the items installed in Add Remove Programs is a real problem. We could leave Viewpoint but what happens if you need to Add Or Remove another program? Here are those programs so you can see they are there:

Start Hijackthis
Click on the Config button
Click on the Misc Tools button
Click on the button labeled Delete a file on reboot...
A new window will open asking you to select the file that you would like to delete on reboot. Copy and paste this: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\iguryysg.exe and click on it once, and then click on the Open button.
You will now be asked if you would like to reboot your computer to delete the file. Click on the Yes button if you would like to reboot now.

Post a new HJT log and the information I requested, tell me how the computer is running now.

When I go into add/remove programs it's a bunch of file names with the little picture of a computer with a cd in front of it. It only started doing that yesterday too, I think I might need to do a restore to a check point and see if they all come back.

I fear if you use System Restore and any of those files are infected by any of the junk we have removed, you will return the infected files to the computer. After an infection like you just had, System Restore has to be purged to get rid of bad junk they back up.

Thanks for the HJT log, and it looks clean of malware, I have closing instructions but they include cleaning System Restore. Let's run a good scan first, it will not remove anything but it will show us anything hiding.

Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here.

The add/remove thing is bugging me, I went to that thread and I am not doing something right with the steps involving notepad. Could you possibly clarify what it should look like in notepad when I save it to my desktop?

When I try the Kaspersky scan I click to install the activex control and I get sent back to the page that has the privacy statement on it, it's happened over and over.

Are you using Internet Explorer? If so, try another scan:

Follow the directions in this link to run AVG Anti-Spyware, make sure you delete or quarantine anything it finds and save the scan report to post.

If you wish to try System Restore, I will caution you that if it has backed up any infected files, and I always clean Systems Restore at the end of a malware removal process so a user starts with a clean restore point, those infected files will be returned to your computer. There is no way I can say this will or will not happen, just like I can not say you have a restore point that will fix the issue you have with Add Remove programs. My advice is to ask Microsoft Technical Support for help, it is free and that is what we pay them money for the Operationg System for.

Another option to consider would be a reinstallation of the Operating System.

I did the scan and followed the steps on the website, but it wouldn't let me save the log file of what it found, it deleted something "downloader" and something "alphabet"

Download Dr.Web CureIt to the desktop:

Doubleclick the drweb-cureit.exe file and Allow to run the express scan
This will scan the files currently running in memory and when something is found, click the yes button when it asks you if you want to cure it. This is only a short scan.
Once the short scan has finished, mark the drives that you want to scan.
Select all drives. A red dot shows which drives have been chosen.
Click the green arrow at the right, and the scan will start.
Click 'Yes to all' if it asks if you want to cure/move the file.
When the scan has finished, look if you can click next icon next to the files found: http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/images/check.gif
If so, click it and then click the next icon right below and select Move incurable as you'll see in next image:

This will move it to the %userprofile%\DoctorWeb\quarantaine-folder if it can't be cured. (this in case if we need samples)
After selecting, in the Dr.Web CureIt menu on top, click file and choose save report list

Close Dr.Web Cureit.
Reboot your computer!! Because it could be possible that files in use will be moved/deleted during reboot.
After reboot, post the contents of the log from Dr.Web you saved previously in your next reply.

Thanks for that scan report, most are in the System Restore files and we will clean those soon. Several are in this file: C:\VundoFix Backups <<< delete that folder. Please remove all tools you downloaded for the fix, the exception is ATF-Cleaner, you may keep that nice small tool if you wish.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

AVG Anti-Spyware is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.
