Trojan Computer Number TWO

I do have two different computers that both came up with viruses. This log is for computer number TWO, I hope it is ok to post the two on the boards at the same time:

It is perfectly ok as long as they are personal computers, and this is exactly how to do it. Having said that I have to say I see nothing that looks like malware in this HJT log. What program is telling you about a trojan? What does it say about the trojan, name, pathway to it's location? What symptoms are you experiencing as a results of this malware. Do you receive any error messages from Windows? If you do post those word for word.

Since you have it onboard, please do this:
Follow the directions in this link to run AVG Anti-Spyware, make sure you delete or quarantine anything it finds and save the scan report to post.

I did follow the instructions in the "before you post" section and I think that the Trojan appeared in the Spybot scan.
I am not experiencing any symptoms that are extreme, like freezing or an automatic web page redirect. I have recieved some weird junk mail items though. What made me post in this forum is I ran a regular check on my virus program and the result was one virus that was automaticaly deleted (Idid not write doen the name). I figured that these sacans wouldn't come up with much, but thought that I would run anyways just to make sure. I was surprised when the spybot program found a trojan.
I just ran the AVG and it doesn't look like it found much that is harmful. After the scan though, it would not let me save the report. Has it save on my computer somewhere that I can retrieve it?

Thanks for the feedback but it does not provide me with much information. You can look in the C:Program Files\Grisoft\ANG Anti-Spyware 7.5\Reports\ folder for that scan report, that is where it would be if you accepted the default location when downloading. If it is not there, run it again if you wish and this time, save the scan report or I can post another scan if you wish.

If you have questions about stuff Spybot S&D is finding and not removing, make sure you are updated and fully immunized before you run the scan. If the issue continues, post your questions here: http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=4
for the Spybot S&D experts. As I said, I see no evidence of any malware in the HJT log.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

AVG Anti-Spyware is a good program but it does use some resources. Once the trial is over you can update and use the scanner for as long as you wish, but unless you purchase it you should turn it off completely so it does not run unless you start it manually.

Searched the C:Program Files\Grisoft\ANG Anti-Spyware 7.5\Reports\ folder and the search could not find the report. So I ran another AVG Anti-spyware scan and after the scan, it will not let me click on the "save report". I double checked the settings before the scan (under tool menu, scanner, then settings) and Automatically generate report after every scan is the only box checked. Searched the c:program.... again and still am not finding the file.

Since this computer, computer number TWO, appears to be running fine and the last AVG Anti Spyware is only coming up with tracking cookies, I won't bother with trying to fix it. It did show a Trojan with the SPybot program, but is not appearing anymore, so it must have removed it completely.

I am sorry to have wasted your time on this computer. I don't know why the Hijack this log did not show trojan, maybe my antivirus program did what it was supposed to do?. Anyways, I don't want to waste anymore of your valuable time on this computer. Thank You for the help.

As for computer number ONE, I haven't received a reply on it yet. When you said that the HiJack this log was not showing any malware, were you also refering to Computer number ONE?

Thanks for the feedback, and I will close this topic shortly. If you look at the top of the AVG Anti-Spyware console, you should see the word REPORTS. Clicking on that would give you the option in the lower left corner to save that report. Save it to your Desktop for ease of accessing, for future reference. You may also have an old version of the progam, this is the newest version and it is also free for a trial.

OK, too funny, I tried clicking on the reports and there was nothing shown- now there is. I swear the report was not listed in there yesturday. Here is the report, it's the second one I did, the first is not listed.

Appearently, nothing is found. Again, I am sorry to waste your time. I know that you must be swamped at times and I apologize. The trojan that showed up earlier is still confusing to me, but this computer appears to be clean, so I will just proceed as normal and continue to run the regular virus check each week.

Should I still do the system restore steps that you recomend if nothing was found with the AVG?

What about the post titles "infection computer number ONE"? Did you say that nothing was found on that one either?
