I have been using this program from 2 years and it detected very very less dunno *why?* anyway to my question what does spybot search and destroy scans does it scans a complete hard drive or just intelligent scan?

There are several reasons you may be finding fewer things.Microsoft has improved their software. Starting with Windows XP SP2 addition protection was added not only to the OS but also to Windows Internet Explorer.
You may have gotten smarter and are not inviting trouble with risky downloads.
