I just can't seem to get rid of this Mirar thing

I did the online scan and some things came up but the program was not responding after a while so I gave up on it. Any help would be appreciated :bigthumb:

Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information. "BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

Please follow these instructions to turn off TeaTimer until we finish, it will block changes we must make:
http://russelltexas.com/malware/teatimer.htm

http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php <<< download Smitfraudfix from here and follow ONLY these directions.

Search:
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/processutil/processutil.htm

Post the C:\rapport.txt

This junk will download more, I suggest you stay offline as much as possible until you are clean. This is just the first step in several.

Thanks

Thanks for returning your report, it looks like the Smitfraud hackers are running their junk from a new place, those
C:\Program Files\Video ActiveX Object\ are Smitfraud but I can't remember them running from that registry point and the fix is not picking them up. You have other junk also, let's proceed like this:

1) C:\HiJackThis.exe <<< return here and right click a blank spot and create a new folder called HJT. Move the HJT.exe and log that is there into that folder like this:
C:\HJT\HiJackThis.exe. Backups for safety will also store in that folder.

2) Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
(You may edit out Microsoft, Hotfixes, Security Update for Windows XP, Update for Windows XP and Windows XP Hotfix to shorten the list)

3) Thanks to sUBs and anyone else who helped with this fix.

Download ComboFix from Here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) or Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Post the combofix log, uninstall list and a new HJT log run AFTER combofix.

Thanks

Ok I'm really sorry, I'm trying hard to understand what to do here but I can't do the first step. Do I right click on the post I made earlier? When I do that there is no option to create a new folder.

Thanks for returning your information and great job :bigthumb: Let's do this now.

1) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

2) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

3) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = about:blank
R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {DD7A1B0F-AFCE-FF19-CB3E-FCBAA84743E3} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: PEDEV_IEListener Class - {E1412445-4FF8-410e-8D24-F2CF86B171A4} - C:\Program Files\PeDevice\PeDev.dll (file missing)
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Oedc] "C:\DOCUME~1\Anthony\APPLIC~1\RACLE~1\csrss.exe" -vt yazb
O4 - HKLM\..\Policies\Explorer\Run: [none] C:\Program Files\Video ActiveX Object\pmsngr.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Policies\Explorer\Run: [isamini.exe] C:\Program Files\Video ActiveX Object\isamonitor.exe

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

4) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\DOCUMENTS & SETTINGS ~1\Anthony\APPLICATION DATA~1\RACLE~1\ <<< delete that folder

C:\Program Files\Video ActiveX Object\ <<< delete that folder

5) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Post a new HJT log and let me know how the computer is running now.

Thanks

I did found this in Application Data "winantispyware2006freeinstall[1]exe. I could not locate these.
C:\DOCUMENTS & SETTINGS ~1\Anthony\APPLICATION DATA~1\RACLE~1\ <<< delete that folder

C:\Program Files\Video ActiveX Object\ <<< delete that folder

Post a new HJT log and let me know how the computer is running now.

winantispyware2006freeinstall[1]exe <<< delete that if you have not.

That's ok, sometimes HJT removes the stuff or combofix. Follow those instructions.

Thanks

Your HJT log looks good also:bigthumb: Let's see if we can get this scanner to run, it would be good to run one to make sure nothing is hiding form us.

Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here.

Thanks...Phil

Clean:bigthumb: remove the tools we downloaded for the job, you may keep ATF-Cleaner if you wish, it is a nice small tool. Let's finish like this.
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

Some good information for you:

Here is some great information from Tony Klein, Texruss, ChrisRLG and Grinler to help you stay clean and safe online:

OK I can't remember what I disabled.

I think I removed most of the stuff, but whenever I try to remove programs there always seems to be "leftovers"

There's also these transluscent folders of tif and dat files etc. and a recycled folder for each drive that I don't remember being there before.

What should I do with these:

C:\QooBox\Quarantine\C\DOCUME~1\Anthony\APPLIC~1\DriveCleaner Free\Logs

C:\QooBox\Quarantine\C\DOCUME~1\Anthony\APPLIC~1\WinAntiSpyware 2006\Logs

C:\QooBox\Quarantine\Registry_backups

If I delete them, do I keep the quarantine folder?

I don't know what this is or what to do with it:

C:\Documents and Settings\Anthony\Desktop\%USERPROFILE%

Thanks for all the help so far  the computer is running a heck of alot faster

tif <<< not quite sure what you are talking about, see this: http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=what+are+tif+files&btnG=Search
If you are talking about image files, I have no idea what image file you have on the computer.

If you are talking about Temporary Internet Files: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/260897
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Temporary+Internet+Files&btnG=Search
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=How+to+delete+Temporary+Internet+Files&btnG=Search

DAT files: I also have no idea what DAT files you have save on your computer but you should be able to open them to see what they are, see this information:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=dat+files+&btnG=Search

I doubt any of those are problems, but they can clutter up your computer, give this tool a try:
Clean Manager
http://spyware-free.us/tutorials/cleanmgr/

C:\QooBox\ <<< delete that folder in red, all of the rest saved for combofix will be removed along with that folder, you need none of it.

C:\Documents and Settings\Anthony\Desktop\%USERPROFILE% <<< this is a user profiles that was established by Anthony, open it to see what it is. It has nothing to do with anything we used.

Thanks

I deleted C:/QooBox

I turned TeaTimer on and was instantly bombarded with registry entries. I automatically started accepting a bunch of them and then I thought uh-oh, I think one of them said Drivecleaner or something. I fear I might have just made a mistake. I restarted windows and there were a bunch of registry questions again which I denied. I hope I don't have to do this all over.

Those transluscent folders and this: C:\Documents and Settings\Anthony\Desktop\%USERPROFILE%
dissapeared when I went to tools, folder options, view, and selected do not show hidden files or folders under Hidden files and folders. I also checked the Hide extensions for known file types box and the Hide protected operating systems files(Recommended)

There is also a windows security alert about my antivirus program not being monitered by windows security center. Is it conflicting with Spybot S&D?

First question is do you know how to use Spybot S&D? If not here are several good tutorials to teach you:
http://spyware-free.us/tutorials/spybot/
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial43.html
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/tutorial/index.html

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/index.html
You may want to leave TeaTimer off until yuou learn about it.
http://www.malwarehelp.org/how-to-enabledisable-spybot-teatimer.html

Why does Spybot-S&D flag changes in the Windows Security Center?
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/46.html
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/faq/index.html
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=250

I suggest you review the information and read about how TeaTimer works before you turn it on. First make sure Spybot S&D is completely updated and immunized. Then scan with it and follow the directions in the tutorials for removing what it finds. When this is done, if you still have questions about Spybot S&D, post them here:
http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=4 for the Spybot S&D experts.
