Hey, my Computer is under attack and I was told by a friend who had a similar problem that this forum was the place to go for help. He told me to explain my problem and post it along with my HJT log. So here's what's going on:
I'm not that computer savy and I ended up with a fairly big problem with spyware. I was fooled by the flashy titles and the aparent ligitimacy of many of the spyware programs which showed up on my computer. They seemed like real things, I figured one of my sisters had just downloaded the program and without knowing what it was I just ignored them and went along with my basic routine. So a few weeks ago some "Anti Spyware" programs mysteriously downloaded themselves to my computer. The bottom right hand side of my screen flashed with "windows warnings" which looked legitimate until I realized how long the message was, i realized that the windows people knew that the average person was too stupid to read and understand that much stuff and that's when I figured out there was a problem. the warning messages said my computer was under attack from spyware programs. at first i clicked on it to try to get the warning messages to leave me alone because I didn't think they were real anyway. But when I clicked on it this screen showed up and downloaded three different icons to my desktop. then I kenw there was something REALLY wrong. So I asked my friend if he had any spyware destroying software and he gave me the name of this site and he gave me a few freeware programs. We ran some programs and they found spyware that I had gotten months and months ago but thought (then) that they were real programs So here's my log, Please help me...

Welcome to the forum

First please put hijackthis in a folder of its own, such as C:\antispyware

Download smitRem.exe (http://noahdfear.geekstogo.com/click%20counter/click.php?id=1) and save the file to your desktop. (By noahdfear.)
Double click on the file to extract it to it's own folder on the desktop.
Dont use it yet.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
install then from within the program check for updates BUT dont scan yet
ewido security suite: http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
When installing, under "Additional Options" uncheck "Install background guard" and "Install scan via context menu".
When you run ewido for the first time, you will get a warning "Database could not be found!". Click OK.
We will fix this in a moment.
From the main ewido screen, click on update in the left menu, then click the Start update button.
After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful"), Now close the program.
Do NOT run a scan yet.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Next, please reboot your computer in SafeMode by doing the following:
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.
Start Hijackthis and place a check next to these items If there.
Hit fix checked and close Hijackthis.
Open the smitRem folder, then double click the RunThis.bat file to start the tool. Follow the prompts on screen.
Wait for the tool to complete and disk cleanup to finish.
The tool will create a log named smitfiles.txt in the root of your drive, eg; Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log along with all others requested in your next reply.
Open Spybot check for and fix any problems found.
Run Ewido:
Click on scanner
Click on Complete System Scan and the scan will begin.
NOTE: During some scans with ewido it is finding cases of false positives.
You will need to step through the process of cleaning files one-by-one.
If ewido detects a file you KNOW to be legitimate, select none as the action.
DO NOT select "Perform action on all infections"
If you are unsure of any entry found select none for now.
When the scan is finished, click the Save report button at the bottom of the screen.
Save the report to your desktop
Close Ewido
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Restart back to a normal windows session

Next go to Control Panel click Display > Desktop > Customize Desktop > Web > Uncheck "Security Info" if present. click the apperence tab under Windows and buttons change it to Windows XP style > click apply and OK.

Get this free onlines scan and post the results
