Possible spyware ... computer very slow at startup

Hi,

You guys helped clean up my computer and now it's my wife's computer that's acting up. For the last 2 months, when Windows XP starts up I am not able to launch IE until about 2 minutes after it's fully booted up. I click on the icon and nothing happens. This is unusual since for the last 3 years we've been able to launch IE and get online within seconds after it booted up. It's got to be virus related. We've used Adaware and Spybot.

I see nothing wrong there.

So it's rather old windows installation. A fresh installation (=formatting) may help to get back speed.

Before trying that, I recommend to read this (http://users.telenet.be/bluepatchy/miekiemoes/slowcomputer.html) and do what it suggests.
