View Full Version : ABC / Ebay search window browser hijack

I've recently been infected with an unusual browser hijack:

When I search on Google (say I search for "Hello world") a special window with a thin title bar with no text and only a close button fades in. Inside the window is an EBay search with the term that I typed into Google ("Hello world").

Then, a bunch of IE windows pop up with searches for things like affiliates.copeac.com, some gambling sites, etc...

I am using WinXP SP2 with the latest version of Firefox.

Tried SpySweeper to no avail.

Here is my Hijackthis log... the VAIO stuff is normal, thats the machine I'm using.

Thanks to sUBs and anyone else who helped with this fix.

Download ComboFix from Here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) or Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Post those logs, the information I requested and any comments you think will help.
