I am unable to do an online scan because the program begins downloading and starts sending emails as soon as it completes. It usually takes about 10 minutes before this happens.

Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information. "BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)

All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

If your issues are not resolved, I will try to help, please do this.

First, though I see a few minor issues in the HJT log, I see no malware. You mention "it" a couple of time, it sure would be great to know what it is. Please provide more information about your problem, including any error messages you receive word for word.
Understand HJT can not show everything but I need more information than you provided as a starting point.

Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
(You may edit out Microsoft, Hotfixes, Security Update for Windows XP, Update for Windows XP and Windows XP Hotfix to shorten the list)

Post that uninstall list so I can see if "it" is installed and provide more information about "it" so I can try to help with "it".
