Hello everyone,

I'm a PC Tech for my company and I've been tasked with finding a cost effective anti-spyware program for our systems to use. At the present time we have close to 800 PCs running in the company, split between laptops and desktops. I have two questions concerning the user of Spybot-S&D:

First, is this software legal for use on an Enterprise level aspect? Many free programs are free to use under the restriction that it's used for personal use only. Is that the case here or can the software be legally used by a company?

Second, could I get a quote on the cost of using the software? I know that the creator wants to keep the software free to use, but if the VP of my department hears that, she'll do everything she can to abuse that aspect of the program. She's a real cheap bitc... uh, she's a very inexpensive individual and I know for a fact that she would never donate any funds to the Spybot-S&D creator. Is there any way I can get in touch with the programmer to receive an "official" cost for purchasing "licenses" to use in our company so he's getting something for his hard work?

Thanks,

Tryon

Hello Tryon.

Thank you for your interest in purchasing Corporate licenses; Spybot-S&D is free for personal use only.

II.e. Corporate use
As companies are not individual persons and would have problems fullfilling the above terms, there is a license for corporate users that can be found at safer-networking.ie. (http://www.safer-networking.ie/)
http://spybot.info/en/license/index.html

For the specific needs of corporate LANs/WANs we designed a tool called "Intranet Server for Spybot - Search & Destroy" which will help you to:
get updates automatically from our server

store these updates on your servers for easy access for your clients
reduce traffic on your internet connection
keep a centralized standard configuration for your needs
send a report of the client scan to the admin
schedule scans at the client machines
