Hi, please help. The command services adware is causing my computer to automatically reboot whenever I startup AOL.

Since HJT is really not showing anything, let's give combofix a look to see what it finds.

Download ComboFix from Here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) or Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and the information I requested in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

C:\Program Files\Blvd\blvdnews.exe -- This is an inventory management program for Mary Kay consultants

C:\Program Files\FolderShare\FolderShare.exe -- This is a service from Microsoft that allows me to view files on my home computer remotely from a browser.

AOL Spybot is catching the problem. It justs states that "AOL has blocked command services". However, it happens over and over again.

And then my computer just reboots at will.

Thanks for returning your information and the feedback, this one has me confused:

AOL Spybot is catching the problem. It justs states that "AOL has blocked command services". However, it happens over and over again.What is AOL Spybot? I know what Spybot S&D is, but not that. I just had another member having issues with a aol spyware program reporting the item when no other program was. Please provide more information, copy/paste what you are being shown to this topic.

Thanks for your quick reply.

AOL Spybot is actually AOL Spywear Protection. When it catches the problem this is the message I get:


"We have found and blocked Command Services. To view details, select View Blocked Items."

When I view details it shows an adware nuisiance.


My computer just reboots at will

I'm not receiving any error messages when it starts to reboot, just goes to a black screen and reboots. As it is coming back up, it goes into safe mode and so I choose "reboot with last known good configuration". If not it just goes into a loop of trying to reboot.

Once I choose "reboot with last known good configuration" and the computer has gotten into windows, I get this message box: "Your computer has recovered from a serious error", click here for details.

Thanks for returning your information and your feedback. I just had an issue similiar to this as I mentioned, and here is another that was just posted:

It is strange that two or more computers are having similiar issues and aol software appears to be involved in all three. I really do not know what that could mean, and I am not a fan of aol.

I can not get a Google hit on the error number you posted, but that is not suprising if it is something new being caused by a recent download or installation.

That is the exact same problem I'm having except I haven't installed anything new lately.I suggest look at the links I provided, it sounds like you have problems other than malware. When did you install this new Lavasoft program?

Sorry...that is not a link to the diagnostic report. Folks send me this a lot so I know it can be done. When you think you have the correct link, copy and paste it to your borwser. If it takes you to the page showing the flags indicating the overall condition of your computer, you will know you have the correct link. Then post that link for me.

Not sure if I still have a malware problem.

I turned off the AOL Spywear program. I'll keep working and see if I still having these issues
1) Computer shutting down and restarting on it's own
2) Computer not going back up without clicking on "last known configuration"

If you have looked at the diagnostic yourself and do not require that I look at it and have no further malware issues, then do this:
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

I saw that program and I agree with BleepingComputer. It is probably spyware in that it collects information but is often installed by the ISP (aol?) so I stopped removing it.
I suggest you discuss it with aol and if does not belong to them, uninstall it in add Remove programs.

I uninstalled the AOL Spybot and that seemed to have solved my problems of computer automatically shutting down and restarting. I also followed your advice for fixing the security problems and other minor problems. Thank you so much for all your help.
