Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information. "BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

You have a nasty trojan here: C:\WINDOWS\msqnx.dll
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=msqnx.dll&btnG=Google+Search

a dialer: O16 - DPF: {0594AF7E-573B-40DF-8165-E47AB2EAEFE8} - http://akamai.downloadv3.com/binarie...1026_EN_XP.cab
EGroup X 0594AF7E-573B-40DF-8165-E47AB2EAEFE8 EGAUTH_1021_EN.cab Dialer - more here

and more. Do you know what this is?: O4 - HKLM\..\RunServicesOnce: [RTPRenSvr] rundll32 C:\WINDOWS\patchw32.dll,RTPRenSvr
I would think it was bad, but the Google:http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=patchw32.dll&btnG=Google+Search makes it look like you may have downloaded it for some reason.

Let proceed like this:

1) HJT is running from an unsafe Temporary Internet Files. Move it to a permanent location and I prefer: C\HJT\HijackThis.exe.
If you need more instructions use these:
http://russelltexas.com/malware/createhjtfolder.htm
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial94.html

2) Thanks to andymanchesta and anyone else who helped with the fix.

Download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.
http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
Choose your usual account.
Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

(save the report and log until we finish)

3) How to make files and folders visible:
Click Start > Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View Tab. Under the Hidden files and folders heading, select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck: Hide file extensions for known file types
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm. Click OK.
You may reverse this for safety when we are finished.

4) Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune
http://www.atribune.org/content/view/25/2/
Save it to your Desktop. We will use this later.

5) Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://ca.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/c...search/ie.html
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant =
O3 - Toolbar: Win Stream plugin - {BFB5F154-9212-46F3-B547-AC6106030A54} - (no file)
O16 - DPF: {0594AF7E-573B-40DF-8165-E47AB2EAEFE8} - http://akamai.downloadv3.com/binarie...1026_EN_XP.cab
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} - http://207.188.7.150/16fc3f734f2d0a2...zip/RdxIE2.cab
O21 - SSODL: msqnx - {1BDACE12-FD2D-4E90-AC2A-235D0DC1CF0C} - C:\WINDOWS\msqnx.dll

Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"

6) RIGHT Click on Start then click on Explore. Locate and delete these items:

C:\WINDOWS\msqnx.dll <<< delete that file (may be gone, removed by SDFix)

7) Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Click Select All found at the bottom of the list.
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Restart the computer and post the report from SDFix, a new HJT log and let me know how the computer is running.

Thanks

grandmal

Thanks Vince for returning your information and the feedback. Please see this information:
http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.5.0_06\ <<< out of date, download the newest version and then uninsall ALL old versions in Add Remove programs.

O15 - Trusted Zone: http://*.hp.com <<< must be Hewlett Packerd, just making sure you are aware it is in your "Trusted Zone".

The balance of the HJT log looks fine, however SDFix is unsure about these items:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\ESD\DLMCleanup.exe
C:\Estee\Masters of Med Ed\Thesis\~WRL3168.tmp
They may very well be valid, this is the report:
Files with Hidden Attributes:
If you are unsure about them you can use this free scanner to check the files: http://www.virustotal.com/ You may have to unhide them:
ttp://www.xtra.co.nz/help/0,,4155-1916458,00.html

C:\SDFix\backups\backups.zip <<< please delete that folder in red and all that is in it.

It might be a good thing to run another scan since we are seeing only what SDFix and HJT is showing us. If this works for you, follow these directions.

Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here.

If you would prefer to close the topic, just let me know and I will post valuable closing information for you.

Thanks...Phil
