Hi there. I am kind of hoping that someone might be able to help me out. Spybot keeps detecting Zlob DNSChanger, and even though I 'fix' it, it just keeps coming back!

Not a lot showing in the HJT log, we will need to investigate a little. Would you start like this:

Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

In answer to your query, no I don't recognize the provider whois.domaintools. I haven't heard of that before.
I am surprised to see that Symantec is still present in my system, and I removed the program before installing eTrust. There is nothing showing in my Add/Remove Programs list for Symantec, though there are obviously still files present. Do you have any tips for removing those files?

in answer to your query, no I don't recognize the provider whois.domaintools. I haven't heard of that before.I will schedule removal during the process, be very sure it does not belong to you or your ISP. You may want to check with them before removing it.
Do you have any tips for removing those files?I can provide the tool that Symantec/Norton posts, and though I can report no problems with it, you use it at your own risk.

We can also remove it manually if you prefer.
Smitfraudfix has detected the infection, read and follow all directions carefully.

Clean:
Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 2 and hit Enter to delete infect files.
You will be prompted: Do you want to clean the registry ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.
A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Optional:
To restore Trusted and Restricted site zone, select 3 and hit Enter.
You will be prompted: Restore Trusted Zone ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to delete trusted zone.
Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.
Post the C:\rapport.txt and a new HJT log. Let me know how the computer is running.

I used the link you provided to remove those last Symantec files - yay!
Have provided the SmitfraudFix and new HJT logs.
So far so good with the computer. I was having trouble with being redirected from Google search results - clicking on the link and ending up somewhere else! But...... all seems to be working well right now. Fingers and toes crossed that it's all sorted!!

Thanks for retuning your information and the feedback:bigthumb: Your HJT log looks clean of malware. let's run a good online scan to make sure nothing is hidden. You may remove Smitfraudfix completely from your computer, don't keep it because it does not update and that infection is constantly changing.
Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner
You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.
Then post it here.

System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
