View Full Version : VirtueMonde wont leave me alone
Hello I was hit with a trogon horse but AVG got it instantly. Soon after (a couple of minutes) internet explore popped up with an advertisement. So I closed it down and run AVG scan. Then and still now I keep getting on occasion That AVG picks up a trogon horse, however I keep getting these pop up trying to sell me stuff I figured out though so quick research that it was VirtueMonde but I have run Norton, AVG, Spybot, Ad-Aware and nothing seems to get rid of it.

Download and install TrendMicro HijackThis (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/HJTInstall.exe)
* Once installed open HijackThis by clicking Start > Programs > HijackThis and click the button labeled
Do a system scan only
* Click the scan button in the lower left hand corner of the interface and HijackThis will quickly scan your system.
* Once the scan is complete the scan button will now read save log. Click this button to save the log file to your PC. Once you select where you would like to save the file it will open in your systems default text editor. Typically this application is Notepad. Post the log here.

Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once the scan is complete, Right Click inside the listbox (white box) and click add more files
Copy&Paste the 2 entries below into the top 2 boxes

Click Add Files and Click Close Window
Repeat with these entries

Click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.

button.
Make sure that Set all elements to: shows Quarantine (1), if not click on the link and choose Quarantine from the popup menu. (2)
At the bottom of the window click on the Apply all Actions button. (3)

Click the Save Report as button.
Save the report to your Desktop.
Right-click the AVG Anti-Spyware Tray Icon and select Exit. Confirm by clicking Yes.
