Hello.
I seem to have been infected with yet another Zlob nasty. I did not even know it this time--I just happened to be up very late (or early) last night working on a webpage and noticed my computer slowing to a arthritic crawl. AVG didn't find the problem. Spybot found the "trogandownloader.zlob" and I clicked to fix it and it disappeared. I then ran the Ad-aware program and found the "win32.trojandownloader.zlob" again. I clicked that to fix it. It seemed to disappear--but to be on the safe side--I downloaded and ran SmitfraudFix again (advice from my last battle with Zlob) -- option 1 then reboot in safe and option 2. I then ran ATF cleaner. I also performed the online virus scan and found nothing.

Could someone tell me if my computer is clean by looking at my Merijn's HijackThis v1.99.1 log?

Thanks so much!

The only thing I see in the log is a dead line:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {259F616C-A300-44F5-B04A-ED001A26C85C} - (no file)
ExploreExtPDF.dll
It's not malware and you can use HJT to remove it if you wish.

I believe it would be good to run a second scan to double check:
Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here.

If you don't think that is necessary, then finish like this:
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

Scan process completed.

I do believe the ExploreExtPDF.dll is something left from when I tried a PDF converter program--SolidConverter--I will try to get rid of that entry with Hijack This -- since I don't use that program--I have another.

I did "reset" my system restore before I posted--I learned that from you the last time ;-).

Now what do I do after this Kaspersky found viruses--or are these actually viruses as the site says they are.

Thanks!

Thanks for the scan results, let see what Kaspersky fopund:

KASPERSKY ONLINE SCANNER REPORT Thursday, August 02, 2007 9:04:13 PM
Number of infected objects: 6

or are these actually viruses as the site says they are.
Five of them are part of Smtfraud, remember this disclaimer:
Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Delete Smitfraudfix from your computer, because it does not update it must be downloaded new anytime you use it.

This one is left apparantly from an old program, it is adware so navigate to the file in red and delete it, then you are good to go:bigthumb:
C:\WINDOWS\cpbrkpie.ocx Infected: not-a-virus:AdWare.Win32.Coupons.h skipped
You may need to enable hidden files and folders:
