Hi! Welcome to the Safer-Networking forum.
My name is Scotty. I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. HijackThis logs can take a while to research.
Please be patient and I'd be grateful if you would note the following:

I will working be on your Malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
It's often worth reading through these instructions and printing them for ease of reference.
If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to say or ask!! It's better to be sure and safe than sorry.
Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.

Rename HijackThis
There is a possibility an infection which is hiding part of the HijackThis log because it's called hijackthis.exe.
Please rename hijackthis.exe to hello.exe

Now scan again and post a new log, please.

Hi

You have no anti-virus on your computer. It is important you install one now before we continue with your fix. Check this out (http://www.freebyte.com/antivirus/#scanners) for a list of free AV scanners, AVG (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/2/lng/us/tpl/v5) is highly recommended

P2P Warning!
Please note that as long as you are using any form of Peer-to-Peer networking and downloading files from non-documented sources, you can expect infestations of malware to occur
Once upon a time, P2P file sharing was fairly safe. That is no longer true. You may continue to use P2P sharing at your own risk; however, please keep in mind that this practice may be the source of your current malware infestation
Additional information on the safety of Peer to Peer programs themselves is here :
Clean/Infected P2P Programs (http://p2p.malwareremoval.com/)
Please refrain from using P2P during the fix, to avoid introducing new infections.

Please download VundoFix.exe (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=4) to your desktop.
Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
Click the Scan for Vundo button.
Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt and a new HiJackThis log.

Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove.
In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button." when VundoFix appears at reboot.

Hi

Download and Run ComboFix

Download this file from below:

Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/Beta/ComboFix.exe)

Disconnect from the Internet, than disable your anti-virus and any real-time anti-spyware monitors that are running.
Then double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply with a new HijackThis log.

Note 1: Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall
Note 2:Remember to re-enable your anti-virus and anti-spyware before reconnecting to the Internet.

vccvgg

Done.

Note the anti-virus wasn't enabled during the fresh HijackThis scan.

Hi

I suggest you print out, or copy to Notepad, the following instructions.

Please make a uninstall list using HijackThis
To access the Uninstall Manager you would do the following:

1. Start HijackThis
2. Click on the Config button
3. Click on the Misc Tools button
4. Click on the Open Uninstall Manager button.
5. Click on the Save list... button and specify where you would like to save this file. When you press Save button a notepad will open with the contents of that file. Simply copy and paste the contents of that notepad here in a reply.

Run HijackThis, select Do a system scan only and place checks against the following entries (if they are still present):

O2 - BHO: (no name) - {3E7DACD3-90FE-4FA1-873B-638CBBB55763} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\gebyw.dll (file missing)

WITH ALL OTHER WINDOWS CLOSED Click on Fix Checked and exit HijackThis.

Reboot into SAFE MODE
By pressing the F8 key right when Windows starts, usually right after you hear your computer
beep when you reboot it (some versions of windows will display 'Starting Windows' with a grey progress bar)
you will be brought to a menu where you can choose to boot into safe mode.

If it does not work on the first try, reboot and try again, as you have to be quick when you press it.

I have found that during boot up, right after the computer displays the equipment , memory, etc
installed on your computer, if you start lightly tapping the F8 key, the system will usually display the menu.

To enable the viewing of Hidden files follow these steps: Close all programs so that you are at your desktop.
Double-click on the My Computer icon (or click Start, then select My Computer)
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
After the new window appears select the View tab.
Put a checkmark in the checkbox labeled Display the contents of system folders.
Under the Hidden files and folders section select the radio button labeled Show hidden files and folders.
Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide file extensions for known file types.
Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide protected operating system files.
Press the Apply button and then the OK button and shutdown My Computer.
Now your computer is configured to show all hidden files.

Navigate to and delete the following files and/or folders (if they are present):

Files:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\tiphcusc.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\bsnusgwh.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\dxattyjt.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\fnmpabdh.dll

Folders:
C:\Combofix
C:\Qoobox

Also remove Vundofix and Combofix from your Desktop.

Reboot back into Normal Mode.

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky Online Scanner (http://www.kaspersky.com/downloads/kws/kavwebscan.html). You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

The program will launch and then start to download the latest definition files.
Once the scanner is installed and the definitions downloaded, click Next.
Now click on Scan Settings
In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:

Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:

+ Extended(If available otherwise Standard)

Scan Options:

+ Scan Archives
+ Scan Mail Bases

Click OK
Now under select a target to scan select My Computer
The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run. Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
Now click on the Save as Text button
Save the file to your desktop.
Copy and paste that information in your next post.

Post back with the Kaspersky Scan report, a new HijackThis log, and let me know how your pc is running. Any problems, let me know.

Well, my computer hasn't had the popup problem ever since I ran VundoScan, i've been pretty pleased with the performance. To my knowledge it seemed like all the bad files were gone, until I cleared those files you just told me about. C:\WINDOWS\system32\tiphcusc.exe was the only one on my system of the four. New HijackThis log in next post, wouldn't fit in this one.

Hi

Sorry for the delayed response.

This is a warning about the use of cracks/serials/ warez. Apart from the obvious of being illegal, in the cyber-world, you rarely get "something for nothing". In your case, it was certainly the source of your infections.
I strongly recommend stopping this practice, unless you plan to be re-infected. There are plenty clean freeware replacements, that are as good as expensive software, and if you become a regular on security forums, because of this practice, the helpers will be less inclined to assist you.

I see that Viewpoint Media Player is installed. Viewpoint, Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player are Viewpoint components which are installed as a side effect of installing other software, most notably AOL and AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). Viewpoint Manager is responsible for managing and updating Viewpoint Media Player’s components. You can disable this using the Viewpoint Manager Control Panel found in the Windows Control Panel menu. By selecting Disable auto‑updating for the Viewpoint Manager ‑‑ the player will no longer attempt to check for updates. Anything that is installed without your consent is suspect. Read what Viewpoint says and make your own decision.

To provide a satisfying consumer experience and to operate effectively, the Viewpoint Media Player periodically sends information to servers at Viewpoint. Each installation of the Viewpoint Media Player is identifiable to Viewpoint via a Customer Unique Identifier (CUID), an alphanumeric identifier embedded in the Viewpoint Media Player. The Viewpoint Media Player randomly generates the CUID during installation and uses it to indicate a unique installation of the product. A CUID is never connected to a user's name, email address, or other personal contact information. CUIDs are used for the sole purpose of filtering redundant information. Each of these information exchanges occurs anonymously.
Viewpoint Manager is considered as foistware instead of malware since it is installed without user's approval but doesn't spy or do anything "bad". This may change, read Viewpoint to Plunge Into Adware (http://www.clickz.com/showPage.html?page=3561546).
I recommend that you remove the Viewpoint products; however, decide for yourself. To uninstall the the Viewpoint components (Viewpoint, Viewpoint Manager, Viewpoint Media Player):
Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
In Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs.
In Add or Remove Programs, highlight Viewpoint Media Player , click Remove.

Navigate to and delete the following files and/or folders (if they are present):

Folders:
C:\Documents and Settings\Swatch Domino\My Documents\Downloads\Allok.AVI.to.DVD.SVCD.VCD.Converter.v3.0.0524 Final Incl Serial\allok_avi2dvd.exe

Reboot your computer and scan with HijackThis. Post the new log in your next reply and let me know how your pc is running. If you have any questions, ask away.:bigthumb:

Thanks for the heads up on Viewpoint, I always wonderwed where it came from on my computers, if there's anything else you think you saw that's questionable worth deleting, please say so. Aside from very odd problems with the new ISP we switched to, the computer's working fine. That should be all, unless you're a network specialist too, or anything is in the new HT log. If not, thanks alot!

Hi

If you are having networking problems, might I suggest registering at this forum?
http://forums.techguy.org/
They have a section dedicated to Networking.

A firewall helps keep attackers at bay and keeps malicious processes from 'calling home'. It is important you install one now.
Check this out (http://www.freebyte.com/antivirus/#freefirewalls) for a list of free firewalls. Zone Alarm (http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/company/products/znalm/freeDownload.jsp) is considered the easiest to use.

I would advise updating Adobe Reader, as the latest version clears up any vulnerabilities of previous versions.
First uninstall the version you have on your computer then download and install Adobe Reader 8.1 (http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html).

Delete the older versions of Java and download the newest.
Please follow these steps to remove older version Java components.

Close any programmes you may have running, ESPECIALLY your web browser
Click Start > Control Panel.
Click Add/Remove Programs.
Check any item with Java Runtime Environment (JRE or J2SE) in the name.
Click the Remove or Change/Remove button.
Repeat as many times as necessary to remove all versions of Java.
Reboot your computer once all Java components are removed.

Then download the latest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) (http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp) (4th one down the list), which is JRE6u2, and click Yes at the page warning, then accept the Licence Agreement before downloading the Offline file.

This is my usual speech for when you are clean, which you appear to be.

Please follow these simple steps in order to keep your computer clean and secure:
Disable and Enable System Restore.
It's also a good idea to Flush your System Restore points after ridding yourself of malware:

Click Start | Help and Support | Undo changes to your computer with System Restore.
Click Create A Restore Point then click Next. Give it a name it and then click Create, then Close.
Close the Help and Support Center box.
Click Start | Run and type Cleanmgr
Select (C: ) then click OK.
Click the More Options tab.
Click Clean Up in the System Restore Section.

This will remove all previous restore points except the newly created one.

Here are some free programs, I recommend.

Spybot Search and Destroy
Download it from here (http://security.kolla.de/index.php?lang=en&page=download) . Just choose a mirror and off you go.
Find here the tutorial on how to use Spybot properly here (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial43.html)

Install Spyware Guard
Download it from here (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareguard.html)
Find here the tutorial on how to use Spyware Guard here (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial50.html)

Install SpyWare Blaster
Download it from here (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html)
Find here the tutorial on how to use Spyware Blaster here (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial49.html)

Install WinPatrol
Download it from here (http://www.winpatrol.com/download.html)
Here you can find information about how WinPatrol works here (http://www.winpatrol.com/features.html)

Make sure your Windows is ALWAYS up to date!

An unpatched Windows is vulnerable and even with the "best" Antivirus and Firewall installed, malware will find its way through.
So visit http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/ to download and install the latest updates.

Update your Antivirus programs and other security products regularly to avoid new threats that could infect your system.

Please check out Tony Klein's article "How did I get infected in the first place?" (http://castlecops.com/t7736-So_how_did_I_get_infected_in_the_first_place.html)

Follow this list and your potential for being infected again will reduce dramatically.

Glad I was able to help.
