Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.
Hi Keith, I am not seeing a lot in the HJT log and you have not provided much information.
Can you mention where you are being redirected, any error messages you receive "word for word" and any other details that might help identify the malware.
Let's allow combofix a look:
Thanks to sUBs and anyone else who helped with this fix.
Download ComboFix from Here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) or Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop.
Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log
in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall
Thanks
If I do a search in Google (or any search engine) for let's say "chairs" when the search results come back if I click a link I get redirected to a different site. So if I click JCPenny.com link it sends me to some other site. If I use the back button and do this three times it finaly lets me go to JCPenny.com. It always takes three times. The redirected sites aren't porno. I will down load and run this and post results. Thanks.

That seems to have fixed it. Any idea what it was ? I have a barrage of scanners on and it still got through.

Thanks for returning your information, that file combofix deleted is one the Ukrainian hackers use.

Can you tell me how the computer is running now?
I see you have SUPERAntiSpyware onboard, do you own that program?
These are the most recent instructions I have for the program, would you use these instructions, allow the program to delete anything it finds and post the report. Let me know how the instructions work.
double-click the icon on your desktop to run it.
It will ask if you want to update the program definitions, click Yes.
Under Configuration and Preferences, click the Preferences button.
Click the Scanning Control tab.
Under Scanner Options make sure the following are checked:
Close browsers before scanning
Scan for tracking cookies
Terminate memory threats before quarantining.
Please leave the others unchecked.
Click the Close button to leave the control center screen.
On the main screen, under Scan for Harmful Software click Scan your computer.
On the left check C:\Fixed Drive.
On the right, under Complete Scan, choose Perform Complete Scan.
Click Next to start the scan. Please be patient while it scans your computer.
After the scan is complete a summary box will appear. Click OK.
Make sure everything in the white box has a check next to it, then click Next.
It will quarantine what it found and if it asks if you want to reboot, click Yes.
To retrieve the removal information, please do the following:
After reboot, double-click the SUPERAntispyware icon on your desktop.
Click Preferences. Click the Statistics/Logs tab.
Under Scanner Logs, double-click SUPERAntiSpyware Scan Log.
It will open in your default text editor (such as Notepad/Wordpad).
Please highlight everything in the notepad, then right-click and choose copy.
Click close and close again to exit the program.
Please paste that information in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log.
Thanks
Here is the log. The computer seems to be working fine.

That seems to have fixed it. Any idea what it was ? I have a barrage of scanners on and it still got through. These hackers I mention are from the Ukraine, and usually we see a marker like this:
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=966 The IP is redirected to where ever they choose, often porn sites. Here is a scan of the IP number:
85.255.115.45 http://whois.domaintools.com/85.255.115.45
In your case, the clue was not there but the symptoms were, I planned to run Fixwareout next to remove it but the combofix found and remove that file which is similiar to what they use.
There are lot's of ways malware can get in, a common one now is exploits that enter because of outdated Java programs. You have the new version of Java, but look in Add Remove programs and UNINSTALL any old version. See this information: http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=12880&postcount=2
You can post the uninstall list for me to check if you wish like this:
These links will show you how bad it is and how important keeping everything updated are.
http://www.theregister.com/2007/05/11/google_malware_map/
http://redtape.msnbc.com/2007/05/the_next_net_th.html
This is about the $$ and organized crime is more and more involved. If you know what is installed and sure nothing is there that should not be, you can skip the next step.
Open Hijackthis.
Click the "Open the Misc Tools" section Button.
Click the "Open Uninstall Manager" Button.
Click the "Save list..." Button.
Save it to your desktop. Copy and paste the contents into your reply.
(You may edit out Microsoft, Hotfixes, Security Update for Windows XP, Update for Windows XP and Windows XP Hotfix to shorten the list)
SAS is showing only cookies but some are nasty, here is how to control those if you wish:
http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/cookies.htm
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/using/howto/privacy/config.mspx
I asked if you owned SAS and you did not reply, so I will mention anyway that it is a good program but if you downloaded it as a trial, be aware once the trial expires it continues to use resources and gives no benefits.
Let's clean a little and if all is running well, I will post closing information for you.
Open HijackThis and choose "Do a system scan only" then check the box in front of these line items:
(if you have this set to "Blank" on purpose, leave it)
R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = about:blank
(toolbar is damaged, not working right if at all)
O3 - Toolbar: WeatherBug Browser Bar - powered by MyWebSearch - {8EAB99C9-F9EC-4b64-A4BA-D9BCAE8779C2} - C:\Program Files\MyWebSearchWB\bar\1.bin\W6BAR.DLL (file missing)
O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - ?p=ZUxdm265YYUS
Close all programs but HJT and all browser windows, then click on "Fix Checked"
Run Clean Manager
http://spyware-free.us/tutorials/cleanmgr/
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:

I suggest you read the links I provided in my post #10. Those folks are much more knowledgeable about what you are asking than I. If you find you have an unanswered question once you have reviewed that information, post it and I will do my best.
Thanks...Phil:eek:
