Two days ago I think I downloaded some sort of Active X program that I thought I needed to run video. Suddenly porn showed up. I ran Spybot and a Windows (OneCare?) program and AOL's checker and the porn stopped but Internet explorer keeps popping up whole new windows with advertising for Macy's, gas credit cards, etc. all promising money. As soon as I close them more pop up. I keep running Spybot & Fixing & Immunizing (update it every time) but the same Internet Explorer Cookies are showing up - Advertising, BlueStreak, CPXInteractive, DoubleClick, FastClick, MediaPlex, Statcounter, Zedo. Also, my system is running very slowly and Windows often closes down or freezes up. I also ran House Microcillin (or something like that). At one time there were two issues (per SpyBot) in the Windows Registry but after running SpyBot in Safe Mode those have disappeared.

Sorry, I'm not a techie and don't know what to do. AOL (McAfee) runs scans and comes up clean. I had to uninstall OneCare as it apparently conflicted w/AOL's safety and security - that was the message I got.

Thx for any help, explanation, direction

Hello.

Please see the stickied procedure for this forum and produce a HJT log: "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance) (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288)

Copy/paste the HJT log into a new topic, I will close this one as helpers look for zero response. :)
