AGOBOT-KU-WORM....keeps coming back [Archive]

How do I get rid of the AGOBOT-KU WORM?

I have unchecked the item in the Spybot start up entries...to prevent start up, I hope.

Spybot shows the entry as:
HK_LM:Run with a blank Value and a blank Command line, and a Filename of system32.exe with
a Description as being added by the AGOBOT-KU WORM.

Spybot has a link to http://www.sophos.com/virusinfo/analyses/w32agobotku.htm, but the
link referred to has not existed for more than 2 years that I know of. Sophos says their
virus software detects and removes this worm. Wonder why the link from Spybot has this
link that has not been no good for so long?

I would appreciate help. I have had Spybot show this entry on several computers since 2004.
I can not find any post anywhere giving a solution to this Worm.

Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

Posting additional comments or logs before a volunteer responds, can push you back instead of forward, because your thread ends up with a newer date. Also, helpers may think you are already being assisted because of the post count. The same applies to 'bumping'. and after looking at a Kaspersky scan which was clean (as are both of the scans you ran) he concluded this is a false positive and I believe you can do the same. If you have additional questions about it, then please post them at the Spybot forum.

I will suggest you make sure your version of Spybot is totally updated and immunized before you run it.
