Ahoy,

My computer will not install windows updates or connect with my iPod. The message I got seems to suggest a problem with windows installer but could be some other problem. iTunes is asking me to update my software but when I try it says it cannot install. Not sure if this is virus or something I just need to update?

Log posted below.

Thx,
Matt The Pirate

It looks like the main problem is for anything I run through windows installer it says ... preparing to install...

And then I get this message:

Windows Installer Error Message:
"The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if you are running Windows in safe mode, or if the Windows Installer is not correctly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance."
