Welcome to Safer Networking, I wish to be sure you have viewed and understand this information.
"BEFORE you POST" (READ this Procedure before Requesting Assistance)
http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288
All advice given is taken at your own risk.
Please make sure you have read this information so we are on the same page.

It's always handy when you give us some information about the malware, This >> Invisible Mouse In Windows XP is not much information. Any other symptoms, any error messages?

http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php <<< download Smitfraudfix from here and follow ONLY these directions.

Search:
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 1 and hit Enter to create a report of the infected files. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Note: process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.
http://www.beyondlogic.org/consulting/processutil/processutil.htm

Post the C:\rapport.txt

Thanks

Hi pskelley,

Thanks for the help! I have read the forum prior to posting, and followed (i think) all of the required pre-actions to post.

Unfortunately, there are no real symptoms besides my computer running VEEEEERY SLOW, and my mouse occasionally appearing to stay put in one place, while really moving around on my desktop invisibly. The computer takes longer to boot, longer to transition between the windows XP 'starting up' screen and displaying my user login screen, and longer to begin the start-up processes.

Oh, and the virus scanners all catching the zlob files, but can't clean them.

Below is the log you asked for. Were the original logs any help?

Thanks again!
David

Hi David, thaks for returning your information and the feedback. Smitfraud has found the infection as evidenced by the 022 item in the HJT log. Let's take care of that first, then we will look to other issues.

One that you can take care of before you post a new log:
C:\Program Files\ewido anti-malware\ewidoctrl.exe <<< this program is obsolete, uninstall it in Add Remove Programs.

We need to disable your Windows Defender Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.
Open Windows Defender, Click on Tools, General Settings.
Scroll down and uncheck Turn on real-time protection (recommended).
After you uncheck this, click on the Save button and close Windows Defender.
After all of the fixes are complete it is very important that you enable Real-time Protection again.

SpywareGuard's job is to block changes we must make. Right click the SG near you clock to open the console, then click Files/Exit. It will be returned when you reboot.

http://siri.geekstogo.com/SmitfraudFix.php <<< tutorial if needed

Clean:
Reboot your computer in Safe Mode (before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually)
Double-click SmitfraudFix.exe
Select 2 and hit Enter to delete infect files.
You will be prompted: Do you want to clean the registry ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found): Replace infected file ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to restore a clean file.
A reboot may be needed to finish the cleaning process. The report can be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt

Optional:
To restore Trusted and Restricted site zone, select 3 and hit Enter.
You will be prompted: Restore Trusted Zone ? answer Y (yes) and hit Enter to delete trusted zone.
Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.

Post the C:\rapport.txt and a new HJT log. Post any comments you think will help.

Thanks...Phil

Phil,

Thanks for the help! below are the new HJT and rapport logs. The mouse seems to be doing better, but is still a bit jittery (symptom of still having the virus). I also turned windows defender back on after the clean, and back into regular windows.

One question - what does the zlob virus do? Is it harmful or just a pain?

Hello David and thanks for returning your information and your feedback. Your mouse may need a new driver, though I suppose anything is possible, I rarely hear of issues where malware effects a mouse?

Smitfraud is kind a catch all word, and the infections can be bundled with various malware at the whim of the hackers and USUALLY this is about FRAUD. They want you to send $50 for a worthless rouge program and if they can get say 10,000 folks to do this...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spyware_Quake
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=what+is+smitfraud&btnG=Google+Search

I suggest you run a cleaner, Windows has clean manager:
http://spyware-free.us/tutorials/cleanmgr/

Here is a nice, small free tool from the creator of Vundofix:

I can also suggest the FREE diagnostic here: http://www.pcpitstop.com/

I would also like to see the results of a Kaspersky scan if possible:
Run this online scan using Internet Explorer:
Kaspersky Online Scanner from http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

Next Click on Launch Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.

* The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
* Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
* Now click on Scan Settings
* In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
* Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
* Standard
* Scan Options:
* Scan Archives
* Scan Mail Bases
* Click OK
* Now under select a target to scan:
* Select My Computer
* This will program will start and scan your system.
* The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
* Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
* Now click on the Save as Text button:
* Save the file to your desktop.

Then post it here.

If you do not feel like the additional scan is needed, then do this:
System Restore does not know the good files from the bad. In case bad stuff has gotten into your System Restore files, follow the instructions in this link to get clean System Restore files. Turn it off, reboot then turn it back on:
