View Full Version : HIJACKED?!? Google search results' links redirected

Google search results are redirected to what appears to be several different "search" sites. i.e., 1001anything.com, boo1.67646_1709.clickshield.net, 101links.info, etc. On the third attempt to open the same link the link opens to the correct address.

I have been at this awhile and have deleted several HJT entries, and run many on-line and downloaded scan tools, some have removed infected files.

Initially my HJT log came back with entries similar to the users log http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=17452 (entries present included the O17 hits with NameServer = 85.255.113.122,85.255.112.83 IP addresses.)

One last thing. how about the infected file found by kaspersky. it is in system restore. how do delete?

Hi and welcome to the Forums :)

I see that you've done some cleaning there...also we'll deal with the kaspersky finding later...

Go to Start >Run and type "Notepad" without the quotes
Copy the text from the quotebox to Notepad.
Go to the menu at the top of the Notepad file and Save as: Name the file peek.bat Save as Type: All files Select the desktop icon on the left to save it on the desktop.
Double click on peek.bat and let it run.
When finished it will open a file in Notepad.
That file will be named startup.txt
Please post the contents of startup.txt into your next reply here.

At first you need to disable a few realtime protections. These may interfere with our cleaning process.
We'll enable these when you're clean...

Disable AVG Anti-Spyware guard.
Open AVG Anti-Spyware
Click Shield
Click under "resident shield is"
Change it to inactive
Close the program

Disable Spybot S&D Teatimer.
Run Spybot-S&D in Advanced Mode
If it is not already set to do this, go to the Mode menu select "Advanced Mode"
On the left hand side, click on Tools
Then click on the Resident icon in the list
Uncheck "Resident TeaTimer" and OK any prompts.
Restart your computer

Download ATF Cleaner (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=1) by Atribune to your desktop.
Do NOT run yet.

Make your hidden files visible:
Go to My Computer
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options
Click the View tab.
Checkmark the "Display the contents of system folders"
Under the Hidden files and folders select "Show hidden files and folders"
Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"
Click Apply and then the OK and close My Computer.

Open "My Computer" and delete the following files (if present):
C:\WINDOWS\AppPatch\fonturl.dll

Run ATF Cleaner Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browserClick Firefox at the top and choose: Select All

When the scan completes, click the Automatic cleaning (recommended) button.
Click the Show Report button and Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply along with a fresh HijackThis log
