Please help. I can hardly use internet as I continually get antivirus messages e.g. win antivirus pro 2007, poker and gambling sites and my default homepage keeps changing. I have followed all your instructions but could not copy and paste both logs as there are too many characters? what should i do now?

sonia jeffs,

Welcome to Safer Networking.

Please read Before You Post (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288) I can't help you until I see a Hijackthis log, here are the instuctions. At this point all I need to see is a HJT log

Download and install Trendmicros Hijackthis (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/hijackthis.php?page=download)

Download the Trendmicro Hijackthis Installer, follow defauts and it will install in C:\Program Files\Trendmicro\Hijackthis and this is exactly where we want it to be.

Open HJT Scan and Save a Log File, it will open in Notepad
Go to Format and make sure Wordwrap is Unchecked
Go to Edit> Select All.....Edit > Copy and Paste the new log into this thread by using the Post Reply and not start a New Thread.

DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

I am still unable to copy in the Kapersky log as I get the following message from you:"The text that you have entered is too long (33464 characters). Please shorten it to 20000 characters long"

Lets not worry about the Kapersky log right now. You have a few serious issues going on that we need to fix.

Lets proceed like this.

Go to Start> Run and type in services.msc then press Enter
Scroll down to DomainService
Double Click that service to open it.
Click on Stop Service.
Then change the Startup Type to Disabled.
OK your way out of the program.

Open HJT > Misc Tools > Delete an NT Service
Type in DomainService
Then click on OK, it will ask you to reboot, do so.

Open HijackThis > Do a System Scan Only, close your browser and all open windows, the only program or window you should have open is HijackThis, check the following entries and click on Fix Checked.

O3 - Toolbar: PBUKV2 - {4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-A0E8-F479B685FA7D} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\pbukv2.dll (file missing)

O23 - Service: DomainService - - C:\WINDOWS\system32\xffistgu.exe <-- This should be gone so not to worry if its not present

Download ComboFix from Here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) or Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post the Combofix log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

didn't get very far with this. HJT>Misc Tools>Delete an NT Service gives following reply:

The Service you entered is System-critical it can't be deleted.

As long as you were able to disable it, even if you couldnt, just proceed removing those entries with HJT and then run Combofix.

Domain Service is a virus<------

After every scan or fix you run I always need to see a New HJT log so we can see where we are at.

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\~\Browser Helper Objects\{4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-A0E8-F479B685FA7D}]
C:\WINDOWS\system32\pbukv2.dll

[-HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar\WebBrowser]
"{4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-A0E8-F479B685FA7D}"= C:\WINDOWS\system32\pbukv2.dll [ ]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{4E7BD74F-2B8D-469E-A0E8-F479B685FA7D}]

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\pbukv2.PBUKV2]

Copy the entire contents inside the Quote box and Paste it into Notepad ( this will only work with Notepad ) name the file Regfix.reg and in the drop down box, save it as All Files. Save it to your desktop. Then Rightclick on the Regfix.reg file and click on Merge, when it asks you to merge with the Registry, say yes.

There may be files from Combofix that need to be removed. Post a new HJT log please and I will be looking your combofix log over,

I should have mentioned in the first post that the HJT file was sent afterwards as it was too big too fit on one posting again with the combofix. Any way I have done registry instructions and here is another HJT log. Many thanks

"This application has failed to start because ConnAPI.DLL was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem. This appears to be related to your Nokia software, you can try reinstalling it or remove this entry with HJT to prevent it from starting,

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [PCSuiteTrayApplication] C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia PC Suite 6\LaunchApplication.exe -startup

If it give you a problem, you can always restore that entry like this.

To restore the backups:
Open HiJackThis
Click on "View the list of Backups"
Place a check mark next to anything you want to restore
Click Restore
Click Yes
Reboot your computer

1. Please download The Avenger (http://swandog46.geekstogo.com/avenger.zip) by Swandog46 to your Desktop. Click on Avenger.zip to open the file Extract avenger.exe to your desktop

2. Copy all the text contained in the code box below to your Clipboard by highlighting it and pressing (Ctrl+C):

Files to Delete:
C:\WINDOWS\system32\berotvel.dll
c:\windows\system32\iuxjvqlmti.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\pbukv2.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\svvwa.ini2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xffistgu.exe

Folders to delete:

Note: the above code was created specifically for this user. If you are not this user, do NOT follow these directions as they could damage the workings of your system.

3. Now, start The Avenger program by clicking on its icon on your desktop.
Under "Script file to execute" choose "Input Script Manually".
Now click on the Magnifying Glass icon which will open a new window titled "View/edit script"
Paste the text copied to clipboard into this window by pressing (Ctrl+V).
Click Done
Now click on the Green Light to begin execution of the script
Answer "Yes" twice when prompted.
4. The Avenger will automatically do the following:
It will Restart your computer. ( In cases where the code to execute contains "Drivers to Unload", The Avenger will actually restart your system twice.)
On reboot, it will briefly open a black command window on your desktop, this is normal.
After the restart, it creates a log file that should open with the results of Avenger’s actions. This log file will be located at C:\avenger.txt
The Avenger will also have backed up all the files, etc., that you asked it to delete, and will have zipped them and moved the zip archives to C:\avenger\backup.zip.
5. Please copy/paste the content of c:\avenger.txt into your reply along with a fresh HJT log by using Add/Reply and let me know how your system is running now??

Those files may have been removed, lets check,

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing :

Click Start.
Open My Computer.
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
Select the View tab.
Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
Uncheck the Hide file extensions for known types option.
Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
Click Yes to confirm.
Click OK.

Once your system is clean, we suggest that you reverse this to keep critical windows files from accidently being deleted.

Look for these and delete them, if there present and wont let you delete them you may have to boot to safemode to remove them.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\berotvel.dll
c:\windows\system32\iuxjvqlmti.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\pbukv2.dll
C:\WINDOWS\system32\svvwa.ini2
C:\WINDOWS\system32\xffistgu.exe

To Enter Safemode

Go to Start> Shut off your Computer> Restart
As the computer starts to boot-up, Tap the F8 KEY somewhat rapidly,
this will bring up a menu.
Use the Up and Down Arrow Keys to scroll up to Safemode
Then press the Enter Key on your Keyboard

Tutorial if you need it How to boot into Safemode (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html)

Let me know which one if any is still present and if you could successfully delete them and let me know which ones if any would not delete,

Seems to running ok at the moment but admittedly haven't spent that long on the internet yet, just fired off a few google searches which worked fine with no win antivirus or casiono pop ups etc etc.

Thank you for your assistance.

Your very welcome, this thread will be open for about a week so post back if you feel you still have a problem, after the thread is closed you can always start a new thread if need be.

Malware Complaints (http://malwarecomplaints.info/index.php)
Are you mad ? I mean really mad, seething mad, so mad your ready to spit, mad that you have taken your hard earned dollars to buy a computer only to have some Miscredents, Dirt Bags and Cyber Criminals install a malicious program on your computer without your knowledge or consent. You can post your complaint at the above site. If you live in the U.S.A. you can also report your grievance to your State Attorney Generals Office and the Federal Trade Commission's Bureau of Consumer Protection.

How did I get infected in the first place ? Read these links and find out how to prevent getting infected again.

Here are some free programs to install, don't leave home without them

Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4 (http://www.safer-networking.org/en/download/)
Check for Updates/ Immunize and run a Full System Scan on a regular basis.

Spyware Blaster (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html) It will prevent most spyware from ever being installed.

Spyware Guard (http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareguard.html) It offers realtime protection from spyware installation attempts.

Win Patrol (http://www.winpatrol.com/download.html) This program will warn you when any changes are being made to your system and give
you the option to deny the change.

IE-Spyad (http://forums.windowsforum.org/index.php?showtopic=6640)
IE-Spyad places over 4000 web sites and domains in the IE Restricted list which will severely impair attempts to infect your system. It basically prevents any downloads
(cookies etc) from the sites listed, although you will still be able to connect to the sites.

Firefox 2.0 (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/) It has more features and is a lot more secure than IE. It is a very easy and
painless download and install, it will no way interfere with IE, you can use them both.

Zone Alarm (http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,7228,00.asp) Here is a free Firewall from Zone Labs, I
wouldn't access the internet without it.
