After re-installing Spybot a week ago, when I ran a new scan, and just like before I un-installed it, Hitbox and Advertisement, and afew other "items" always re-appear when the scan is done and you click to "remove" these items. I've noticed that these items show everytime I run a scan (every Wednesday) Am I doing something wrong, or is there a glitch there somewhere?

Could you please do this?

Open SpyBot.
Check for problems.
When finished, right click and choose copy results (not the full report) to clipboard and post that into topic.

Also, which version of Spybot do you have?

Hello,

More interesting which browser do you use.

Seems that you have version 1.4 and Firefox as browser.

Doubleclick (and others like Advertising.com, Avenue A, Inc, CasaleMedia, Fastclick, Hitbox, Mediaplex etc.) are so-called tracking cookies. It is quite common for popular websites to employ such tracking cookies from third parties. They use them in order to track the users' surfing habits on their websites. As I said, these cookies are from third parties but they are employed by the site.

In the past versions of Spybot - Search & Destroy the Immunization did not work for Firefox, it was only for the Internet Explorer. But in the new version 1.5 there is a bad download blocker for Firefox and Opera.

So please upgrade your program, version 1.5 is available!
First, please uninstall the old version according to this link:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/howto/uninstall.html
Now, you can download the new version here:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html
Or choose the direct installation file:
http://www.spybotupdates.com/files/spybotsd15.exe
Don't forget to update afterwards!
Here is a tutorial:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/howto/update.html
We hope you enjoy 1.5 even more than our previous releases!

Best regards
Sandra
