Hello sedinne

Welcome to Safer Networking.

Please read Before You Post (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288)

I will not open an attachment, do it this way

Open HJT Scan and Save a Log File, it will open in Notepad
Go to Format and make sure Wordwrap is Unchecked
Go to Edit> Select All.....Edit > Copy and Paste the new log into this thread by using the Post Reply and not start a New Thread.

DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.

Thats better , Thank you. :bigthumb:

When your system gets infected by malware or a virus , its not just a matter of removing an entry with HJT, HJT just gives us some information as to what your infected with and after we run some removal tools then we can remove left over entries with HJT.

First thing we need to do is move HJT to its own folder because HJT makes backups of what we remove to the HJT folder , if HJT is not in its own folder if a backup is needed it could be lost.

Go to My Computer and click on your C: drive, go to File > New Folder and name it Hijackthis, then go to your desktop where you have HJT, right click on it and select CUT, open the new Hijackthis folder you just created and inside that folder, right click inside that folder and select PASTE.

I am looking at TWO serious infections on this computer, I need you to download and run both these tools, each one will give you a report, post the reports for each one and always after we run a tool we need to see a new HJT log so we can see where we are at.

Run this one first, it has to be run in Safemode to be effective.

To Enter Safemode

Go to Start> Shut off your Computer> Restart
As the computer starts to boot-up, Tap the F8 KEY somewhat rapidly,
this will bring up a menu.
Use the Up and Down Arrow Keys to scroll up to Safemode
Then press the Enter Key on your Keyboard

Tutorial if you need it How to boot into Safemode (http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial61.html)

Download SDFix (http://downloads.andymanchesta.com/RemovalTools/SDFix.exe) and save it to your Desktop.

Double click SDFix.exe and it will extract the files to %systemdrive%
(Drive that contains the Windows Directory, typically C:\SDFix)

Please then reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
Restart your computer
After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
Instead of Windows loading as normal, the Advanced Options Menu should appear;
Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press Enter.
Choose your usual account.

Open the extracted SDFix folder and double click RunThis.bat to start the script.
Type Y to begin the cleanup process.
It will remove any Trojan Services and Registry Entries that it finds then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
Press any Key and it will restart the PC.
When the PC restarts the Fixtool will run again and complete the removal process then display Finished, press any key to end the script and load your desktop icons.
Once the desktop icons load the SDFix report will open on screen and also save into the SDFix folder as Report.txt
(Report.txt will also be copied to Clipboard ready for posting back on the forum).
Finally paste the contents of the Report.txt back on the forum with a new HijackThis log

Next run this tool in normal windows

Download ComboFix from Here (http://www.techsupportforum.com/sectools/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) or Here (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe) to your Desktop.

Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post the Combofix log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply

Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Then run this system cleaner.

Please download ATF Cleaner (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=1) by Atribune to your desktop.

This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.

Your system may start up slower after running ATF Cleaner, this is expected but will be back to normal after the first or second boot up

So, I need to see the SDfix log, the Combofix log and a New HJT log . Let me know if you get stuck and need any help.

The error message is :''your computer is making unauthorized copies of your system and Internet files. Run full scan now...'' I don't know how to get rid of this.

This is part of the infection you have. DO NOT CLICK ON SCAN NOW

sedinne,

How are you coming along?? I know this can be overwhelming if your not accustom to it, if it is lets take one step at a time. The alert you got wanting you to scan your system is a fake alert and its related to one of the infections you have on your computer. You can read about it here.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/startups/WinAVX-19402.html

Why don't you just run the Combofix scan in normal windows, no safemode is needed for this tool, then post the report and a new HJT log. And we can proceed from there.

Our purpose of this forum is to help you clean your system and thats what we will do, if your new to this and need a little extra help please let me know, thats why I'm here.

Ken:)
