Should Spybot 1.4 be removed with "Add Remove Programs" before Spybot 1.5 is downloaded and installed?
Thanks

Frank..

It is recommended. See the below post by Sandra (http://forums.spybot.info/showpost.php?p=116851&postcount=2):

"Please uninstall the older version of Spybot - Search & Destroy before installing the new version.
In order to uninstall Spybot-S&D, please consider the following link:
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/howto/uninstall.html
It is important to use the "very small fix".
Then download the new version of Spybot - Search & Destroy 1.5.
You will find links to several download locations on our website.
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html
Please search for new updates after installing Spybot-S&D 1.5.
We hope you enjoy 1.5 even more than our previous releases!

Best regards

Hope it helps..

Carol:
Thank you for the reply. Do I need the "Very Small Fix" only if add remove programs doesn't work?
There were no instructions on how to download and execute it. Are these deletions from the registry?
Thanks

Hello,

You only need the small fix if the other steps do not work.

This is how to use it:
On our website please right-click the 'very small fix'-link and choose 'Save as'.
The small fix will then be downloaded. Now you can execute it with a double click on its symbol.
If this does not work, you can right click the small fix download and choose 'Merge'.
Now all entries that belong to Spybot - Search & Destroy will be deleted from the registry.

Best regards

Hi:
I did need to use the "Very Small Fix". It worked successfully. I had difficulty with Immunize. It ran very slowly. I finally realized that Webroot Spy Sweeper was holding Immunize up.
I stopped Spy Sweeper and Immunize completed rapidly.
Also I could not do Hosts file until I logged off and on. Some other program was using it. I don't know which one.
All is Well, I think I will like the new version. I am especially pleased that Fire Fox is now protected from accessing bad sites.
