Hello. For the past few days my computer has been locking up when I am online. I have no popups or other obvious hijacks but my firewall is popping up with strange stuff. Please take a look at my HJT log and see if there's anything wrong. Thanks for your help!

Hello lingra :)

I can't see anything bad in the Hijackthis log. We'll run one scanner.

Please run the F-Secure Online Scanner (http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols.shtml)

Note: This Scanner is for Internet Explorer Only!
Follow the Instruction Here (http://support.f-secure.com/enu/home/ols3.shtml) for installation.
Accept the License Agreement.
Once the ActiveX installs,Click Full System Scan
Once the download completes, the scan will begin automatically.
The scan will take some time to finish,so please be patient.
When the scan completes, click the Automatic cleaning (recommended) button.
Click the Show Report button and Copy&Paste the entire report in your next reply.

Ok there is something...

Make your hidden files visible:
Go to My Computer
Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options
Click the View tab.
Checkmark the "Display the contents of system folders"
Under the Hidden files and folders select "Show hidden files and folders"
Uncheck "Hide protected operating system files"
Click Apply and then the OK and close My Computer.

Open "My Computer" and delete the following files (if present):
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\PYCQDQAF.INI

Restart the computer.

Post a fresh HijackThis log and let me know how things are running :bigthumb:

Hi

I deleted the file and noticed some differences. I used to be unable to watch streaming divx video, the audio would be fine, but the video would lock. That problem has now disappeared.

However, windows explorer still locks and lags like it did before I deleted the file. Also, I still get alerts from my comodo firewall telling me that the cryptographic signature of my avast antivirus has changed since the last time I "logged on to the internet." I used to get the same cryptographic signature every time I tried to start Firefox, but that has stopped happened since I deleted the file.

Thanks!

Here's the new HJT

Ok we may do some research...

1. Download this file - combofix.exe (http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe)
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
3. When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log in your next reply

Note:
Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall

I noticed that my CPU is running at 100% all the time, with nine svchost.exe processes running.

Here's the ComboFix log:

We may run another virus scan but I don't think that you're infected.

It is normal to have multiple svchost.exes running.

You have Broadjump Client Foundation software installed. This is a memory and resource hog. Please uninstall Broadjump Client Foundation in the Control Panel /Add or Remove programs. This is the item to fix in HijackThis:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BJCFD] C:\Program Files\BroadJump\Client Foundation\CFD.exe

Source: (http://www.answersthatwork.com/Tasklist_pages/tasklist_b.htm)

Again on XP, CFD has been seen to slowly but surely gobble up resources and memory, ending up running at 95% of CPU resources and an impossibly slow PC. You’ve guessed it : de-install "Broadjump Client Foundation" through "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel, and/or disable BJCFD, or its newer incarnation, CFD, with The Ultimate Troubleshooter. Those users who have done so have reported no ill-effects whatsoever. You can also run Ad-Aware or Spybot Search & Destroy who will both rid your PC of the Broadjump software.

You have some unnecessary programs running and loading with windows. These are slowing your computer. If you want, you can fix all the following entries with HijackThis (just my list):

Run HijackThis, click Do a system scan only, and check the box next to each of these entries if still present. Close all other windows and press Fix checked.
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SigmatelSysTrayApp] stsystra.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ISUSScheduler] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\issch.exe" -start
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [DAEMON Tools] "C:\Program Files\DAEMON Tools\daemon.exe" -lang 1033 -noicon
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [iTunesHelper] "C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [BJCFD] "C:\Program Files\BroadJump\Client Foundation\CFD.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_02\bin\jusched.exe"
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [TkBellExe] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Real\Update_OB\realsched.exe" -osboot
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ISUSPM] "C:\Program Files\Common Files\InstallShield\UpdateService\ISUSPM.exe" -scheduler
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [ctfmon.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe
O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Yahoo! Pager] 1
O4 - Startup: OneNote 2007 Screen Clipper and Launcher.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office12\ONENOTEM.EXE

restart the pc and see if there is any difference :bigthumb:
