My computer at the moment is functioning. It seems pretty slow still, but it did pick up a bit after I ran Spybot in safe mode. When I did that, it found an IExplorer firewall was shutdown. I clicked and fixed it. That did seem to help some. My applications start pretty slowly when you click on an icon and such. My worst problem, and I'm thinking that it's related to spyware or a virus is, whenever I try to burn a DVD, it starts the process, completely locks my computer and I can't even shut down Nero. I have to hit my reset button at that time to reboot. Here's my current log:

I think your trouble is Norton AntiVirus / Symantec .
Doesn't play well with others.
Not compatible with Spybot and many others.
There are free AV's that do not slow you OS to a crawl.

Try a free AV Norton also doesn't remove it self very well try the link below if you decide to remove it.

Little Eagle,

Thanks for looking over my logs and giving me your diagnosis. I may look at some other AV programs. Do the free ones protect well enough? I have a lot of financial information from a business on here. I don't mind paying for one if it's better than Norton's. Any recommendations there? And not to dig your affiliation, but Spybot got pretty bad reviews in the latest PC World. Are the Spybot people falling behind the times a little bit perhaps?

I have been running Nod32 and like it.

PC World is so so I wouldn't put to much in to there findings.
A combination of Nod32 and spybot and AVG anti-spyware (free version) has keep me clean for a long time.

And I download junk off the internet not by accident but intensionally :oops:

The only way to be sure is to disconnect the cable to the internet. ;)

As far as spybot falling behind all of them do at some point.
New stuff coming out all the time. We send out the new stuff when we find it to all the anti spyware and anti-virus vendors. When they up is different for all of them.
