I have a Toshiba Tecra 8200 running Win2000. It got infected with Winantivirus2007 which involved all the usual -- popups, trying to download a file, etc. I tried several downloaded fixes to rid the system of the malware including Spybot S&D, Vundofix.exe, sysprotect, and attempting a virus scan at kaspersky.com. Either the fixes didn't work, or the system was so unstable that it couldn't finish the process. The popups and download screens would keep multiplying to the point that the system would freeze, it would seem. Now it has gotten to the point that the system will not even boot. I get a blue screen of death with a 0x0000007B Inaccessible boot device error. Please help.

jkenneyjr,
Welcome to the forum, sorry for the delay. sysprotect is a rogue anti spyware program and may be part of your problem.
This forum is for removing malware only, but you can try a few things to see if it will get you to boot.
It sounds like your system is pretty eaten up with viruses and this may be preventing windows to load.
You may want to read this
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/324103
Start your comouter and begin tapping the F8 Key and when the menu come up use your up and down arrow keys and scroll to SAFEMODE, press enter on your keyboard, if it starts in Safemode you may be able to use the shutdown feature and boot to windows, If that didn't work, do the same thing this time choose LAST KNOWN GOOD.
If you still cant get windows to load, try posting in one of these forums for windows problems.

Once you get into windows, do this.
Download and install Trendmicros Hijackthis (http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/threat_analytics/hijackthis.php?page=download)
Download the Trendmicro Hijackthis Installer, follow defauts and it will install in C:\Program Files\Trendmicro\Hijackthis and this is exactly where we want it to be.
Open HJT Scan and Save a Log File, it will open in Notepad
Go to Format and make sure Wordwrap is Unchecked
Go to Edit> Select All.....Edit > Copy and Paste the new log into this thread by using the Post Reply and not start a New Thread.
DO NOT have HijackThis fix anything yet. Most of what it finds will be harmless or even required.
