Hello,

I have used SpyBot for a long time and depend on it but I didn't know there was a forum.

A post about UniBlue is what lead me here but I haven't found an answer to my question so maybe someone can help.

I "accidentally " installed Spy Eraser on as a free scan as I am having speed troubles all of a sudden and can't find out why. Both my wife and I suddenly started having this trouble at the same time. No we are not networked together and she does not (ahem) investigate software like I do.

The only commonality we have as far as usage is Microsoft updates. I have noticed lately that both our pooters not only have slowed...hers more than mine....plus things are disappearing or getting changed on both.

We do share a DSL router from Embarq but I was hoping that either a registry problem was the cause or spyware...this is why I downloaded Uniblue but had I just looked and seen who made the scan I would never have loaded it.....

The problem is there is no uninstall...it is not in add/remove programs nor is there an uninstall program in the file that downloaded and I am afraid to just delete it.

Help would be graciously appreciated.
Thanks,
Gerry

Hello.

It could be any number of things, if we take a look at a HiJackThis log (HJT) we might be able to rule out what it is not. :)

Please start a topic in the Malware Removal Forum (http://forums.spybot.info/forumdisplay.php?f=22) after following instructions here: "BEFORE you POST"(READ this Procedure BEFORE Requesting Assistance) (http://forums.spybot.info/showthread.php?t=288)

That is the only forum where HJT logs are posted so don't be put off by the malware title. ;)

Skip the scans for now and just produce the one HJT log.

BTW, if you don't have Spybot-S&D version 1.5 please let us know.

Cheers.
