Most of what Kaspersky found where files in Quarantine from other programs.
Run these programs please.
Download CCleaner from here (http://www.ccleaner.com/) to clean temp files from your computer.
Double click on the file to start the installation of the program.
Select your language and click OK, then next.
Read the license agreement and click I Agree.
Click next to use the default install location. Click Install then finish to complete installation.
Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program.
On the "Windows" tab, under "Internet Explorer," uncheck "Cookies" if you do not want them deleted. (If deleted, you will likely need to reenter your passwords at all sites where a cookie is used to recognize you when you visit).
If you use either the Firefox or Mozilla browsers, the box to uncheck for "Cookies" is on the Applications tab, under Firefox/Mozilla.
Click on the "Options" icon at the left side of the window, then click on "Advanced."
deselect "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours."
Click on the "Cleaner" icon on the left side of the window, then click Run Cleaner to run the program.
Caution: It is not recommended that you use the "Issues" feature unless you are very familiar with the registry as it has been known to find legitimate items.
After CCleaner has completed its process, click Exit.
*NOTE* CCleaner deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders. If you have anything in a temp folder, back it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running CCleaner!
Please download SmitfraudFix (http://siri.urz.free.fr/Fix/SmitfraudFix.zip)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.
Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).

Your infected with Smitfraud :sad: So lets proceed with the fix.
You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a Notepad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site.
Download AVG Anti-Spyware Free (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/download-free-anti-spyware/us/frt/0) to your desktop.
Once you have downloaded AVG Anti-Spyware Free, locate the icon on the desktop and double-click it to launch the set up program.
Once the setup is complete you will need run Ewido and update the definition files.
On the main screen select the icon Update then select the Update now link.
Next select the Start Update button, the update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
Once the update has completed select the Scanner icon at the top of the screen, then select the Settings tab.
Once in the Settings screen click on Recommended actions and then select Quarantine <-- Dont forget this Under Reports
Select Automatically generate report after every scan
Un-Select Only if threats were found
Close AVG Anti-Spyware Free <-- Do not run the scan yet.
Boot your computer into Safemode
Go to Start> Shut Off your Computer> Restart
As the computer starts to boot-up, Tap the F8 KEY somewhat rapidly.
This will bring up a menu.
Use the Up and Down Arrow Keys to scroll up to SAFEMODE
Then press the Enter on your Keyboard

Once in Safe Mode, open the SmitfraudFix folder again and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #2 - Clean by typing 2 and press "Enter" to delete infected files.
You will be prompted : "Registry cleaning - Do you want to clean the registry ?"; answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter" in order to remove the Desktop background and clean registry keys associated with the infection.
The tool will now check if wininet.dll is infected. You may be prompted to replace the infected file (if found); answer "Yes" by typing Y and press "Enter".
The tool may need to restart your computer to finish the cleaning process; if it doesn't, please restart into normal Windows.
A text file will appear onscreen, with results from the cleaning process; please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply along with a new HijackThis log.
The report can also be found at the root of the system drive, usually at C:\rapport.txt
Launch AVG Anti-Spyware Free by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
Select the Scanner icon at the top and then the Scan tab then click on Complete System Scan.
AVG will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little time.
Once the scan is complete do the following:
If you have any infections you will prompted, then select Apply all actions
Next select the Reports icon at the top.
Select the Save report as button in the lower left hand of the screen and save it to a text file on your system
make sure to remember where you saved that file, this is important
Close AVG Anti-Spyware Free
IMPORTANT: Do not open any other windows or programs while AVG is scanning, it may interfere with the scanning process:
Reboot normally.
Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #3 - Delete Trusted zone by typing 3 and press Enter
Answer Yes to the question "Restore Trusted Zone ?" by typing Y and hit Enter.
Note, if you use SpywareBlaster and/or IE-SPYAD, it will be necessary to re-install the protection both afford. For SpywareBlaster, run the program and re-protect all items. For IE-SPYAD, run the batch file and reinstall the protection.
Please download ATF Cleaner (http://www.atribune.org/ccount/click.php?id=1) by Atribune to your desktop.
This program is for XP and Windows 2000 only
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
Your system may start up slower after running ATF Cleaner, this is expected but will be back to normal after the first or second boot up

After apply all actions I went to report at top and it said no report available. Under "settings" and under "reports" it said "Automatically generate report after every scan" was checked and "only if threats were found" was unchecked. I had 23 objects found (155 traces). Save it to your desktop and run it.
Click Next, then Install,
Then make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts.
You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so.
Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.
At the end of the fix, you may need to restart your computer again.
Save the contents of the logfile C:\fixwareout\report.txt and post it into your next reply.
Now lets check some settings on your system. For (2000/XP) Only)
Go to Start > control panel.
If you are using Windows XP's Category View, select the Network and Internet Connections category otherwise double click on Network Connections.
Then right click on your default connection, usually local area connection for cable and dsl.
Left click on properties.
Click the Networking tab.
Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio dial that says Obtain DNS servers automatically
Press OK twice to get out of the properties screen and reboot if it asks.
That option might not be available on some systems
Next Go start> Run type cmd and hit OK
Type in ipconfig /flushdns then hit enter
(that space between g and / is needed)
Type exit hit enter

I'm going to follow the recent instructions in a moment. I wanted to ask before I forget if you could help me properly remove Norton. It was updated to the newest version when I renewed and has never been able to live update. I had technical support several times and even turned my pc online over to them twice. The are finally able to update it after a couple of hours and have always thought it would fix the problem but when new updates come in it doesnt work. I would like it off completely as well as protection I have that may cause conflicts with eachother. Last year I ended up with all of these programs that we install on my pc and I wasnt sure if they should stay. Norton said they may cause conflicts. I would like to purchase a subscription to one of these programs that will protect me properly as well as any kind of protection that would help prevent users on this pc from going places that may harbor these trojans. Any advice?

Lets take one step at a time, this Profilewatcher may be related to MySpace. If you don't use or need it you may be able to uninstall it via the Add Remove Programs in the Control Panel.

As far as Norton, this is what I would do, but before you run the tool you want to create a new restore point with System Restore in case it causes problems, the only thing being is that all the garbage we removed is backed up in System Restore and if you use it it may reinfect your system, so lets do it this way. This will flush all the bad entries out of this program.
System Restore makes regular backups of all your settings, if you ever had to use this program to restore your system to a previous date, you will be infected all over again so we need to clean out the previous Restore Points
Turn off System Restore.
Right-click My Computer.
Click Properties.
Click the System Restore tab.
Check Turn off System Restore on all Drives.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Reboot your computer
Turn ON System Restore.
Right-click My Computer.
ClickProperties.
Click the System Restore tab.
UN-Check Turn off System Restore on all Drives.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
Create a new Restore Point <-- Very Important
Go to Start/ Control Panel/ Performance and Maintenance/ System Restore/ Create a New Restore Point
You need to go into the Control Panel and switch to Catagory View to be able to Create a New Restore Point

Now I would wait a day or so until your sure your system is stable, then do this.
1. Create another restore point and name it Norton.
2. Uninstall Norton from the Add Remove Programs.

When I went to control panel etc. and to "create a restore point" there is a next button. if I hit "next" then a screen appears asking for a restore point description. I just canceled the process since you did not mention going past the "create system restore". Do I name it something in the description and hit "create"? Since you are mentioning stability I'm not making a move without you. It says that "this restore point cannot be changed after it is created. Before continuing, ensure that you have typed the correct name". Please explain a little further.
I have had technical from norton remove and reinstall Norton several times to get it to work. I give up and want it gone and replaced so please do recommend.

Yep, you can rename it anything you want, you can create restore points as often as you like. Windows creates one when you boot up. I always create one before installing any serious software in case it borkes my system I can uninstall the program and then restore to the time before the installation.
Your doing alright, just create a new restore point, uninstall that Profiler and Norton and then run that tool for the Norton Removal. What this will do is scan your system for any Norton files and registry entries and remove them
Post a new HJT log when done
Norton took an hour to uninstall through "add/remove programs". After restart everything worked on the web except for the bookmark to get to this forum. I have 2 and neither worked. All other bookmarks worked fine. Now that Norton is gone am I protected at all? Don't forget that we have to clean up my desktop of all unnecessary programs. I downloaded the AFT cleaner twice and already had one on the desktop so now i have 3 with a lot of other things. Please let me know about the current protection and steps for proper protection.

You still have Profilewatcher running, you call to remove it and good ol Norton is still running as a service.
Go to Start> Run and type in services.msc then press Enter
Scroll down to Symantec Core LC
Double Click that service to open it.
Click on Stop Service.
Then change the Startup Type to Disabled.
OK your way out of the program.
Ok, now you have no Anti Virus programs running, here are the basic rules. Only have one Anti Virus program and only One Firewall. You can install the free version of AVG Anti Virus, its more than adequate.

You do not need to keep downloading ATF Cleaner, you can remove them all and run this program, I run it on my systems about once a week. This is free and yours to keep.
Download CCleaner from here (http://www.ccleaner.com/) to clean temp files from your computer.
Double click on the file to start the installation of the program.
Select your language and click OK, then next.
Read the license agreement and click I Agree.
Click next to use the default install location. Click Install then finish to complete installation.
Double click the CCleaner shortcut on the desktop to start the program.
On the "Windows" tab, under "Internet Explorer," uncheck "Cookies" if you do not want them deleted. (If deleted, you will likely need to reenter your passwords at all sites where a cookie is used to recognize you when you visit).
If you use either the Firefox or Mozilla browsers, the box to uncheck for "Cookies" is on the Applications tab, under Firefox/Mozilla.
Click on the "Options" icon at the left side of the window, then click on "Advanced."
deselect "Only delete files in Windows Temp folders older than 48 hours."
Click on the "Cleaner" icon on the left side of the window, then click Run Cleaner to run the program.
Caution: It is not recommended that you use the "Issues" feature unless you are very familiar with the registry as it has been known to find legitimate items.
After CCleaner has completed its process, click Exit.
*NOTE* CCleaner deletes EVERYTHING out of temp/temporary folders. If you have anything in a temp folder, back it up or move it to a permanent folder prior to running CCleaner!

I already downloaded an AVG 30 day trial apparently in our session earlier. Its on my desktop and shows its running. Do I need to get rid of it now that we downloaded the AVG Free?

Yes, Uninstall Spybot Search and Destroy 1.4. you can set up 1.5 this way.
If you have the older version 1.4, remove it via the Add-Remove Programs in the Control Panel.
During Installation, just follow all the defaults.
Go to Mode and click on Advanced Mode
Then to Updates Search for Updates
If you get a Bad Checksum Error, just choose a different download location.
Then to Settings/ File Sets and take the checkmark out of Usage Tracks
Then to Tools/ Hosts Files click on Add Spybot S&D Hosts Files.
Then to Tools/ IE Tweeks and put a checkmark in Lock the Hosts Files
Then to Immunize. Up at the top by the GREEN SIGN, click on Immunize.
Then to Search and Destroy/ Check for Problems
Let it scan your system
Then to Fix Problems and fix all it finds.
Reboot your computer.
Open Firefox and click on Help> About and you should have version 2.0.0.7 The new version if you need it will install right on top of the old one.

AVG Anti Spyware is one of the better programs available, keep it :bigthumb:
CCleaner you only have to download once, periodically when you open the program it will tell you there is an update to a newer version, go for it. It wont protect you from attacks but it will keep your system free of any temp files and such and your system will run smoother.

Keep all your setup files in case you ever need to reinstall them. Keep them all in a folder and name the folder Downloads or something you will remember
I downloaded everything that you listed that I didnt have already. I just want to make sure that you did mean download and run them all at the same time (not pick and choose). Thats a lot of checking for updates etc.

Just keep in mind the old saying that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link, keeping that in mind the vermin that write all this garbage are constantly adding new files and there are new threats every day, so keeping these programs updated is very importrant. Now you don't have to be fanatical running all these programs.
1. Zone Alarm <--Just sits in the background, you will be notified when a new version is available.
2. AVG Anti Spyware <--Just run this a maybe once a month, check for updates first.
3. Spyware Guard <-- One time install, no updates and no scan to run, just sits in the background blocking bad programs
4. AVG Anti Virus <-- Check for updates ( not sure if the free version does it automatically ) and run a scan once a week.
5. Spyware Blaster <-- No scan to run, just blocks bad programs from installing but you need to check for updates at least once a month and enable all protection
6. Spybot Search and Destroy <-- Update it about every few weeks and use the immunize feature to block bad programs from installing, run a scan once or twice a month
None of these programs will conflict Hope this helped
