I'm running Spybot 1.5 on Vista, and I only have one user account on my computer, which does have admin rights, but every time I try to immunize, I get a popup saying I don't have admin rights!

I don't get it! Plz help!

You can also rightclick the Spybot icon on your desktop, and choose Run as administrator,if you prefer that.

Just wondering if this is a once-only thing or has to be done every time you want to run spybot as administrator?

Why doesn't Spybot invoke Vista's User Account Control instead?

(I also have an issue where Spybot doesn't start up many times when clicking on it...or right-clicking on the tray icon and starting it that way)

I just think the app needs some work, but I'm grateful because it's free (I am clueless as to how you guys get paid for your good work).

If Spybot 1.5 is slow to start up,there's a beta test version fix for that in the tracking forum, there's more info about it here if you might like to try it:
http://forums.spybot.info/project.php?issueid=85

Or,the helloween edition-beta 1 doesn't have the slow start-up problem, plus some other known problems are fixed in that one as well,if you would like to try that, instead. There's more about it here:

Yes,there's some bugs, but you might like to keep an eye on the tracking forum for posted fixes to problems (or install the helloween edition if you don't mind trying out a full beta, whichever you prefer.) :)

As to how they get paid,it says on their website they accept donations, but it's voluntary and no one gets less support if they don't donate.
